Carbon Filter in Reverse

I am Air Cooling a 12 light (750w) set up. I want to suck the air through the hoods and dump it outside of the room into a Carbon Filter to reduce oder. Does anyone know if this will work or can I only suck into the filter for it to be useful?

Thanks 4 the help

you can do it both ways. If you suck into/through the filter will be better (odor less). If you put you filter at the end .... it will just stop the air.

What I'm worried about with sucking the air through the Filter before the lights is that as the ducting goes through the lights it will pick up smell and the smell will be dumped out unfiltered

FILTER---FAN----LIGHTS x12-----FAN-----DUMP AIR OUT
or
FAN-----LIGHTSx12------FAN------FILTER/DUMP AIR OUT

the exhaust fan needs to suck air through the filter. Not to blow air into the filter. Make sense?

I've done both with sour diesel and the filter worked about 50 percent better in smell control going through the filter first. You will be able to smell the carbon but no skunk. The other way will help a lot but will not work 100%.
