Care Giver..or Drug Dealer?

the way i see it he makes less than 2k a month because he sells the 36 oz's he has left (every 2 months), which is not an easy job, because he is selling what his patients aren't using and it isn't always easy to find patients in need. i think the mmj "care giver" is a lot like the pharmacist, as opposed to the traditional caregiver that tends sick and old people. very different jobs. neither makes bank.
and he is still "care"ing for his patients, they still get a bunch of weed who are they to complain if he makes money off other people?

This whole conversation about judging people who grow for whatever reason they do, and how they do it. What ever happened to minding your own fucking business.

Sick of this stupid argument......even the people that hung in here have left because of this bs.

No one bitched like a bunch of chatty Cathy's about growers putting out dank before we got legalized on the State level....now all of the sudden there are more people on their white horses riding in and telling everyone why they suck and are now all of a sudden drug dealers.....FUCK OFF.

I grow for the right reason, but I don't judge people for making ends......
Well, that's kinda my point..you see the guys growing and selling BEFORE the med law WERE DRUG DEALERS. and took huge profits, as they risked jail. Now, they have gotten "care giver cards" for the appearance of being legit, while maintaining their prices, yet lowering their risks. Doing so, has cost the true caregiver and self growing patient, their right to transfer, while not changing your game at all. You see, even with your cards, if you get visited on the wrong day, your going to be way over on usable medicine..and get busted anyways.

So just get out from behind that CG card and go back to what you did before..your market is still there.

See, that type of grower is just another "Special interest" group working against patients and true Care Givers. You'd like to smash the small guys before they can ruin your game...Kinda like a Republican

Last I recall it was a Demoncat who signed the law making cannabis illegal in the US. Doesn't really matter, they are all the same tyrants.

P.S. Should Republican Caregivers be entitled to less profit? I mean, since you raised the issue of political party and all in a discussion of your perceived profiteering.

Yea, they are all kinda the same. But here in Michigan, with regards to cannabis, Republicans appear the enemy of choice for the times.

I would guess there are few of the profiteering kind of CG that have any affiliation..maybe independents and liberals.

Not at all true, people are getting medical quality cannabis for 200-250/oz from caregivers (500/oz is not at all the norm), stuff that would've sold for 400+ on the black market easily.

Bob what I think you're not getting is that the guys like me, who grew for a very long time before all of this, are the best growers out there (and there are many), and the people that decided to go buy a light and some dirt are now some kind of Saint. The shit meds everyone keeps talking about are coming from rookie newbie growers that know shit about what they're doing.

My friend owns a dispensary. You should see how much medicine comes through the door every day that is poorly grown in unprofessional gardens, from perhaps good strains, but they don't know and love them enough to do it right. It's all coming in bone dry right off the over dried stems. Most of it isn't even cured. Ten guys a day get asked to leave with their shit.

Don't be so hard on people who were in this business long before legal medicine, we're the ones who have the stuff people want and need.

Be kind.....

WTF? I only have a year of growing experience (with cannabis, I've grown other plants for 10 years) and my buds are not like that. I did a lot of research and did it right. You'd think if you were going to take legal and physical (robbery) risks you'd at least bother to do it right! Uncured? It never smells good uncured, that's just dumb to move it at that point, the value will go way up if you just leave it in some jars for a few months... lol.

I guess most people are just lazy? Some stuff from my first crop ever was better than stuff I got from a premier dispensary here in Ann Arbor. I spare no labor nor expense in taking care of my plants, I love my ladies. :P

I agree more with this. I've been growing a little longer than a year, but had a pretty good idea of how to grow. I've got toys that large op's don't dream of..UVB lighting, single strain stability, things like that. With only 6 in flower at any time, and those spaced 3 weeks apart in maturity, I'm pretty sure what I do compares quality wise to anything out there.

It's not that hard, so long as you are smart enough to do some research and lean something before you start. Yup, first 2 or 3 grows you may have problems, but you'll start getting better quick. If you stick with the same strain, rather than flavor hop, you'll get better too. But anyone that can read, and not listen to hydro store salesmen, can grow good meds in a years time.

Micro brews have always produced the best cannabis...Big ain't better.....

what you say is true, but you have to realize when 2 or more people go into the caregiver/patient relationship, the patient knows or at least should know that the caregiver is in possession of the plants. it all comes down to what the contract is between the party(s) whether is be written or verbal as far as buying/selling. its still not much different than back in the black market days. lot of shady caregivers out there.

what i do is give my patients an 8th ounce every week free of charge, no matter what i produce. any extra they have to buy which they get for a very fair price. in fact it's a better price and better quality than they will find elsewhere and if not i tell them bring me to the source and i will undercut them in price which has yet to happen. sure i do produce well more than a bag a week for everyone but it's not cheap running a medium sized operation and is essentially like running a small business. lot of work and i dont like doing things cheap because usually you get what you pay for. if any patients i caregive for dont like it then they are free to try and grow their own dope and i would care less because i can replace them in a heartbeat. but so far everyone is more than satisfied and never once had a complaint.

i see a lot of the problem is some patients need to quit being stupid and dont just trust anyone as a caregiver. i like the law the way it is except they should allow bigger amounts. no matter what there will always be shady caregivers out there. you just cant trust anyone. you need to do it with a close family member or long time trusted friend. thats the only way i do it and thats why i never have problems anymore. i was once caregiving for a patient and spent about 4 thousand setting up his place. over heard from a friend that he said if things didnt work out he was taking the equipment and not letting me in. i felt bad for the man because of his poor health but after that i went in one day and just started tearing shit down. i told him sorry but if you dont trust me 100%, your letting people in that i dont want around, and he was selling to people without cards. since i felt bad i left him with a couple magnetic ballasts, hoods, lights, and all the plants. i just took my more expensive ballasts and hoods. another patient one time had a swarm of cops over because her boyfriend was always in trouble with the law. ever since all that bullshit i wont even deal with anyone anymore unless they are close to me.

i dont think its the law so much, i think it's people's stupid choices and im not even afraid to admit, i've made stupid decisions like getting involved with the wrong people. live and learn i guess. but yeah i agree with you, way too many greedy asshole caregivers out there. we should all be able to get high at an extremely affordable price. i think medical laws are a huge step in the right direction. its hard to believe that if you know the right sources, excellent homegrown is just as cheap if not cheaper than garbage commercial from mexico.

Psssst .... Bill Schutte was going to fuck with this law whether we were all good little boys and girls or not.

There hasn't been some huge influx of large-scale grows since the bill passed that prompted these amendments. There are big money interests that influence these politicians with everything, including medical marijuana.

Your disgust should be directed at our lawmakers and our AG.

Been showing this plant love for close to 15 years and might just start buying schwag to show everyone what we smoked when we were young! Dealer, caregiver, pothead, I don't care what you call it, the law are fucked and some people just don't deserve to smoke top shelf work (I mean work too), I have many, many thousands of dollars and time and love invested and some people think it a joke.

-if they cops come to my place.. they'll be severally disappointed.

plus bob.. you don't figure in for the people who grow for quality and not quantity. i scrapped all chemical lines because i'd rather grow organic and my yields took a hit for that.
Off subject again....... Think of your organics as a good hydro setup. The biggest difference is that your rocks can dry out every 5 minutes and be watered again and most soil gardens get watered every other day or more. Try adding a bunch of extra perlite to loosen it up, if you can water once a day it will improve your growth rates big time. It a little more labor intensive but works.

Amen to both posts really. I've been at this for over 10 years and I didn't need the aproval of a "patient" or a "caregiver" label then and there was a path beat to my door WTF do think is hapening now that every snobby turd out there has a card? What I remember most was the 1/8 every year you could get that was the snip snap snap and the rest of the year networking with idiots who knew a guy and drugdealers that tried to tell you they had this great stuff.....from mexico looking for more of that eighth. said F that somebody grew it, why can't I. AWESOME theroy but then I tried it. took 5 years to get close to that 1/8 and just a year or 2 ago I sacked up and bought genetics (seeds) and that was my missing piece. took a long time, long enough for me to give 2 raggedy shits about complainers who think it's soooo easy and mathmagicians who know exactly how much it costs to produce an oz of quality dank. IMO it's a free country, shut and put up guys grow that dank yourselves and show me what time it is I'd love to be floored by how easy it was for you.

Trust me, I tried too. It finally pissed me off enough to jump in LOL.
Best laugh I had all day. did you sit there and contemplate the click for like 5 minutes and then hope it was going to be some sanity and discussion? I had to fool myself into saying "it won't be that bad....there are mods right, it won't be another all out fight with keyboard tough guys, right????? right??? WRONG! LOL sometimes it is good to be right, this is not one of those. LOL
