i think i might have my lights too close to the plants... i was looking at others grow ops and it looks like they have at least 4" of space between the plant and light... anyone else think im on to somehting here? or should i just keep them lower and maybe the plants will learn to soak up more light quicker???? idk, all opinions are welcome...

ok so i finally got a thermometer today and my grow room is 91 degrees 50% humidity. not very ideal i know, but i have zero way to exhaust any air out so what should i do? buy more fans? or could i let buckets of ice melt in the room and let the air cool down that way? idk what to do. help me, anyone have any ideas at all?http://www.nextag.com/Extech-445703-Hygro-Thermometer-83544696/prices-html?nxtg=78cf0a1c0517-A913F1C02F73C332
You need to exhaust.I dont know what you are gonna do but without taking the hot air out you will always have this problem.

damn. that sucks, how much damage will it do to the plants? can i even grow at all? its a stealth grow cus i live with my parents so i really can't have a air duct system leading out of the crawl space that im growing in. im hoping the winter will cool it down cus the roof is right over the grow space and i think the snow should help me out a bit.

Well you woould need to open the door from time to time.Your plants need fresh air.It could stall your plants but im sure you can figure something out.
You should not be growing in your parents house without them knowing you want to end up on the streets?

well im keeping the door open for now when im home and the temps are down to 85-86 degrees, so its still high but its do-able i just hope the temps don't get to much higher with the new lights. that would suck cause i have no idea what i would do if they get any higher

I used dry ice this summer and it really helped them cope with the heat. You just have to make sure andbust the ice off of it every once in a while.

dude thats brilliant!!!! thanks so much thats the exact type of advice i was looking for; i never would have thought of that.

i checked the plants right when the light cycle started and the temps were 70 degrees so i know when the plants rest they are not stressing. i also have left the door open to keep the temps low. so far it hasn't spiked over 80 degrees.

Also, dont waste your time putting it in water. If your room is hot enough, just leave a solid block in your grow area, it will sublimate fast enough.

ok so two of my bigger plants are turning their first node tips yellowish green, and the plants them selves are a light greenish color but the new growth is very green in color. is this natural or do the plants need food? or is this heat stress?

Depends, are you talking about the little round cotyledon leaves? If so then yes. Otherwise it may be time for some <1/4 strength nutes.

looks good boss man paint the walls white and put at least 1 26 watt bulb per plant looks like you got the 43's and double up for flower............ also i see you got some space try to keep the plants close so the light is more consintrated. and if you make like a dome top out of cardboard and and use it as one big reflector you wont waste so much light and its cheap.....it also makes it easyer to adjust the hight of the lights if you get creative wit some string.............. i got mines set up wit a project board like from middle school ha it looks like a sciece project ha.....then i made my reflector to fit on top so i got the side walls the back wall and the front is open hers some pixx

You need a fan so it can move the plants around a little.

They are still young but once they start picking up on growth your gonna want to have a solid stem and branches, constant wind and fresh air provides with a sturdy structure for your buds.
