i was thinking of doing something similar to hanging from strings the biggets preblem i am going to have is the concrete ceiling i had to get a ramset to hang 1x2's to tack up my panda plastic to build my room and was thinkin maybe i could make a box to sit on top of my grow bin out of 1x2's and hanging them from there but i dont know how much my little one is going to grow so i dont know how big to go i dont wanna make her all cramped but i dont wanna leave too much room sigh this is a real head scratcher

get some clamp lights from home depot and clamp them on the side of the pot up towards the middle of the plant. it helps giving the plant equal light. but of course have lights on top. stronger than the ones on the sides

what i did and i guess it is a little shady but when they are stocked in the store i go to the reflectors are stacked seperate from the clamp lights i just grabbed the biggest reflectors yeah i know dishonest as hell but i wasn't paying 4 times as much to just get the reflector i wanted because i didn't need the heavy duty socket lol

jus try'n'try to remember that with cfl's you wanna be as neat but effective as possible...they can get very clutter'd and messy(cords,fixtures,etc)y-connecters and powerstrips and clamp lights work good jus try'n keep em close to foliage and you should be fine

This was my first attempt at a CFL rig. I've made 2 more since then.

All 6 lights are 40w. There is 4 daylight white or sunlight white whatever they call it, and 2 soft whites. All in all, 240w. I now use a monster rig (640w) based loosely off of this one, but pics are n/a as it is in a different location.

I'd also like to agree with what the poster before me said. Making these rigs are fire hazardous as it involves a lot of wiring the rig yourself, usually manipulating extention cords etc. Please use the upmost caution and take all of the necessary percautions when constructing the rig. (proper connections of wires, seal heavily with electrical tape, followed by duct etc. this is merely what I do but there are better ways to secure your connections. You dont need your posis hitting the negs and blowing your whole setup.)

and also when building DONT PLUG ANYTHING IN UNTIL THE RIG IS COMPLETE.

just my $0.02.

Dude, wirecaps(wirenuts) would be great for you and then electrical tape if you like, twist em till tehey are tight.
Good luck
