CFL - SoG

Does anyone have any experience with doing a sog with cfls? I plan to do clones 12/12 as soon as they have good roots. I have approx 400w and would like to keep around 20 in there in a perpetual. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Keep air circulating, especially around the base of the plants when they grow taller. Make sure you have enough exhaust. I'm relatively new to all of this but I've had some circulation issues with my CFL SOG and I've read a lot about other people's too. How large are your pots?

None personally but my cab is based off of a cfl sog cab pulling an o a week or two

Circulation isn't much of an issue. Pots are most likely going to either be 2 liter hempy buckets or 1 gal soil. I'm leaning toward the hb though. Faster growth, more controllable, smaller container to get. The plants closer together.

I have decided to do soil in 2 liter soda bottles. Putting 4 in every 2 weeks, so I figure no more than 20 plants in the flower room at a time.

Any recommendations on strain that would be good for this? I mix my own organic soil, but am also looking for a simple nutrient system to use. I don't use much fert as I have my own compost and it is very rich. Including tons of plant matter, horse manure, Horse urine, etc...

thc bomb or any nice indicas seem to work well with very little/no veg time, plus if your limited on height indicas are good bet, im doing a 12/12 from seed sog in 2 litre 100% perlite hempy's... so far so good!

Thank you. Indicas seem the way to go. The only reason I'm limiting height is because of the cfls. Not much light penetration. So, do you have experience with thc bomb?

Also, how are the perlite hempys doing? That was my other option.

Thanks for the post. Gives me more to think about. Anyone have other recommendations for strains? I want something that works best in this short sog. And short (8 week) flowering time would Def be a plus.

Nobody have a recommendation for a good sog strain?
I plan to put 4 clones in flower every 2 weeks. Taking the clones at 6-8 in. So they will be 18-24 at harvest.

don't know about THC Bomb but I have a Bomb Seeds 'Big Bomb' in my cab at the moment along with plenty of others plus indicas give a really nice yield!

As usual with hempy (especially 100% perlite) they start of quite slow because the medium doesn't hold much water so you have to water them quite often, however if you use vermiculite with the perlite 50/50 you have the perfect moisture retention and only need to water as little as once a week... but on to my situation at the mo, once the roots hit the res they get a massive growth boost, so far my exodus cheeses and blue widow are really kicking off just keeping an eye on them but I think the bottles will help to restrict the height a fair enough amount.

try nirvana bubblelicious maybe. mine was short and finished in 6 weeks of flowering.. it did have a long veg period though, i guess that 12/12 from clone can finish in 8 weeks.

How much room do you need for each plant in a sog of this type

They should stay small enough with pruning to be able to keep them close.

Not sure if I understand this right, do you want to have 20 plants flowering at a time? If so, 400watts is not going to cut it IMO, you are going to need closer to 1000...

8"x8"? 10"x10"? 12"x12"? Basically what I was trying to figure is the min size of a room or cab to do this in

The bottles will be together. At approx 6in across, the pattern will be 4wide, 5-6 long... So approx 2ft x 3ft in area.

Ok, Now that I have Internet again and not having to post from my phone...

I planted Some Bagseed and am growing 3 Plants. They are almost large enough to grab a couple clones. I plan to run the first few clones from this as a test while waiting on my Seeds to get here.

I have Germed the Tutankhamon, Cheese Bomb, and one of the freebies (UFO#1 Reserva Privada R.K.S Feminized) I will place these in large pots to grow as mothers. I plan on some pruning to get many branches to clone from. I am mostly interested in the Cheese, and the R.K.S. I plan to grow the most clones indoors in the SoG, but after last frost, I will be placing several outside in the woods. i want to grow some trees again!

Ok. Heres my experience, so far. I made a clone of afghani bullrider in a 16 oz. cup. I used a aeroponic cloner and put in soil after 8 days(miracle grow). Veged for 3 days( I know veg time was too short) Its a 45 day strain. Oh, Im using cfls(2700k). On day 48 of flower I chopped it. I figure I'll only get about 4 grams out of it. But it was a good experiment. now Im starting a sog using 16 oz. beer cans. taped in groups of 4 so they stand up better, and water from the bottom up. Good luck with your grow.
