Cfl's and new seedlings

how close can i possibly put my clf's to the new seedling because im not wanting them to stretch any more than have to as im restricted on space slightly?

put them within an inch and have a fan going. do not direct the fan on the seedlings right away, rather on the cfls. and watch out that you have some thought of ventilation so the heat can exit the veg box
