Change water yesterday, root rot today

So my plants are about 10 days old.. Yesterday I change my water and added new nutes mix (advanced nutrients mgb) and hydroguard..

Today my plants are droopy and root rot has started.. I read an article now that it might be bad to fully change the water so early as the plants havent developed good bacteria and biofilm around the roots..

Now, whats the best thing too do now.. I guess I need to change the water since its already in the water now, but then I am kind of doing the same thing again..

Help please! :)

Hmm.. Maybe the roots are just brown from the nuts/hydroguard? They're not really slimy.. And the plants aren't that droopy actually.. Maybe I just over dramaticed a little..

The air hose is quiet slimy so I guess it is root rot.. What to do? Adding H202 in the water? How much? Not sure if I can get the 3 or 10% strength here.. Will go and check now..

I got some 3% H202, but in the guides on how to deal with root rot on growweedeasy.com and Ilovegrowinmarijuna.com they don't recommend using H202..

I did add hydroguard to my mix (25 ml in my 55 liter UCDWC). The water temp is a little high, around 25C. In about a week its getting colder here and its not normal to be this warm at this time here and the floor is not insulated where I have them so the water temp will go down and I will probably have to put some insulation under the buckets to keep the water temp up during winter.. But with Hydroguard 25C should be okay right? Guess I can freeze down some bottles of water and put it in the res bucket for a temporary solution.

I use transparent hose for the air, maybe that brings in some light? I'll try to tape it up with some black duct tape just where it goes in..

Two of the tents look pretty good and the plants there have new growth that looks healthy.. But the last tent they're kind of droopy and they have been strugling a little from the start.. The other two tents stalled a little, but seems to be catching up again now.. That might be because it was too warm in there.. I've ordered some stronger fans to get better ventilation in there..

I am pretty sure the Brown on the roots are from the nutes.. Its also brown on a white hose for the circulation pump in the main reservoir..

Not sure why the slow tent is strugling so much though..

You can see tent 2 in the pictures had some heat stress..

They all had a rough start as I managed to look at the first week of flower for the nutes when I planted them in the system :p fixed that after 1 day..

Another thing.. I use a aerophonics cloner to root my clones and I dont use rockwool cubes so I just planted them with the roots hanging and using the hydroton too support the stem.. Can that be an issue? Does the rockwool help in any way?

Pictures aren't the best bro but i'm guessing the brown slime on air hose is brown algae, possible light leak or you've left the reservoir open whilst lights are on? Cold water shock could possibly be another issue, it's hard to tell, change water every 5-7 days, get more bubbles in there and fuck the hydroguard off and get silver bullet instead, u want the room temp around the low 20's as the plants are only small, feel free to private message me if u need to

How big of net pots?Hoses between buckets what r those for?The ones 3/4 up.Water level should be just under net pot say 1~2".Droopy comes from water to high in pail, not enough air.Led lights to close.

I am pretty sure the Brown is from the nutes.. Havent left the buckets open and I don't think there are any leaks.. I have the res bucket outside the tent so I open that when I do ph/ppm checks.. The tap water is realy cold here so that might be why they stopped growing.. I will fill up some barrels here so it doesn't come directly from tap..

Myke: net pots are 140mm diameter and 97mm high.. The hoses are just for overflow..

I ordered a bigger airpump.. I suspect thats the problem for the slow tent since thats the only difference I see.. The slow tent has a 2x4lpm output that I have split into 4 buckets.. The two big tents got a 16lpm with 8 outputs.. I guess in theory that should be the same in each bucket though..

Not much has happened in any of the tents since the water change..

Way too hot of a water temperature
What is raising your temps? Do you need a bigger res? Do you need to insulate the buckets to avoid heat gain? Are air pumps dumping hot air into your water when they could be taking air in from a cooler area? Should you ditch the air pumps and convert to waterfalls? what water source are you using?

work on temps first is my advice
insulating around those buckets will help alot. They're black and absorbing tons of heat. Just some bubble wrap n foil tape should help a lot!

is that a little heater right in front of that bucket? perhaps a deflector shield would help too so the heat from that doesn't go right into the bucket in front of it

All good points, water pump should be an in line so it doesnt sit in the water heating it up.

The water is between 19 and 22 celsius now.. Has been since I reduced the light.. They are still not growing.. How long does it take them to recover from a heat shock? And maybe cold shock from when I change the water..

Think I will be able to keep the water temperature down when I get the new fans.. Also ordered more air hose with the new air pump so I kan have it where its like 10C.. I have the airpumps outside the tents now where its 18C..

The heater is on when the lights are out and it doesn't seem to heat the water any more than the light do..

So.. Found out theres a light leak where the airhose comes in.. Its a transperant hose so it brings it in.. I have fixed the leak.. Will the hydroguard take care of the algea now that I have fixed the leak? I guess I should change the water again or is that a bad idea? Saw someone mentioned Silver bullet here, but hydroguard is what I have right now and dont think I can get it here either..

Your water temp is to hot. You have to take the sterile approach. Looks like typical brown slime aka cyanobacteria. I suggest people using Pool Shock or regular household bleach at 5ppm when you got a established root rot problem.

After you got rid of the smell you should run residual chlorine at 0.5-1ppm.

You'll get some more funk as the algae that is in there dies off. Fixing your light leaks will stop that problem. I have used innoculants like hydroguard and GFF in my RDWC systems for 3 years running NO chiller. You will get better growth if the rez temps are closer to 70degF but the world aint gonna end if it doesn't.

Yeah the water is stable at 20C now and has been for some days.. There is some new root growth, but its quiet slow.. The plants have been light green, but they are slowly getting their color back now.. Been reading about using H202 for 24h and then change the water and add only hydroguard for 24h before I add the nuts back in for a flush.. Just to be sure the pythium is completly gone..

Will the hydroguard eventually take out the pythium? Just seems to take forever.. The plants are growing, but very slowly..
