changing light schedule

If I leave my lights on for an extra 8 hours but really low so I can reset my light cycle, will I accidently cause my plants to flower?
I’m not a seasoned grower by any means but I believe as long as it’s Photo it only goes to flower when you change schedule to 12/12. Others here may have more insight though....

Cannabis flowers when hours of darkness increases. Adding hours of light won't do anything to make them flower.
You're good to reset. Just leave the lights on their normal power.

How much damage is done when a change has occurred? I have just realised my plants have came down from 12/12 to 18/6 for about 2 weeks now , gradually, in my wisdom I assumed more light after flowering has been going a good 3-4 weeks would equal bigger buds!! I now realise it was a mistake....any advice folks? I’m using a ts1000 with 4 Blueberry Photo plants in 11 litre buckets of bat mix and feeding them just 2ml per litre of cal mag, and same with bio bizz top max and bloom.
Any advice is very welcome??

What stage of flower are you in?
I think he's still in veg, at least, that's what I take from his initial post:

will I accidently cause my plants to flower?
but this sounds differently

what you should do is to increase the irradiance by the same percentage as your reduction in light-on times. To arrive at the same amount of released light particles.

and if you want to set up a new phase, in flower it's imperative to use an extended period of darkness. 18/6 2 weeks in flower is going to re-vegging the whole tent...

if in veg may either use light or darkness, irrelevant. preferrably longer light.

in both scenarios, the plants will be able to adapt in ~ 2 days:

^^ this is leaf-movement ("praying") recorded after a change in the light regime - see the 48h to 72h were 36 hours of light ^^

But in flower, it may still impose some minor stress, so, always be on the hood
:peace:

What stage of flower are you in? From my understanding, less than 12 hrs of dark could make the plant hermie, or switch back to Veg.
I’m into a bout week 4 of flowering. I have now put the timers back to 12/12 and things are looking ok at the minute, but probably ruined this crop of 4 plants... a well! Everyday is a school day.... thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

There's two different posters asking questions. The first guy wasn't in flower yet. The new guy was.
First guy is good to change light times.
New guy went back to veg after 4 weeks of flower and there may be some consequences like foxtailing or hermies.
