I was just toking, And had this crazy cheap cheap greenhouse idea.

What if you were to make a greenhouse frame and just throw some seran wrap around the sides and top, would the seran wrap have the same effect as glass or plastic, Or would it just be a total waste of time, And maybe a fail?

What are your thoughts?

My parents just had some of the plants under my old glass fish tank. No fancy setup, all they ever used was seeds, water, dirt and fishtanks XD

it would work but seran wrap would be kinda hard to put up properly. you could use painters drop plastic and get good results, just make sure you don't completely seal it so you get some airflow. It's alot more common than you would think. Building your own custom greenhouse is very rewarding and easy on the wallet. Respect

Painters Drop Plastic, What a good idea, Never even thought of it.
I shall keep that in mind, just rememberd i had a few old glass panels downstairs from a old shack we had in the yard.
Might be alright to use as a good makeshift greenhouse.

be alotta saran wrap
exactly, and suran wrap is expensive..... just to what the old timers have been doing forever.....

Buy 5x 1/4 inch rolled steel bars (20 feet each) and a roll of this http://www.homehardware.ca/en/rec/index.htm/Building-Supplies/Building-Materials/Insulation-Acc/Vapour-Barrier/Heavy-Poly/FILM-POLY-CLR-HVY-12-X300-300SF/_/N-nthu5/R-I2645944. bend the rolled steel into the frame and use the plastic to cofer it. Tuff tape the borders so its sealed and you have a big ass greenhouse, for less than $200 and a bit of work. i like to use 6 foot wide rolls of the plastic, it makes life easy.

Edit: you can put them up in a couple hours by yourself after you get used to it. makes for great guerilla greenhouses.
