Can't blame the LPs for something that is regulated by the government. They would obviously rather ship pure oils at a premium, but this is their only option. The Canadian government setup a really broken version of what they did in Colorado.

Down there they have a smart system where any edibles (be it a gummy bear or a huge cookie) have to have the same mg in them. I believe the number is 5, but it keeps it regulated so that people aren't greening out because they had no idea how potent a gummy bear could be. That's the correct and safe way to do it in a system where anyone can walk in and buy things.

Instead, Canada said you can do extracts/edibles if you send them in an essentially useless form. This will all get challenged again and go through the courts and they'll get slapped again and eventually, hopefully before legalization, this will get sorted out. In the meantime, what they're allowed to ship is trash.

About Hydropothecary's New Cannabis Oil Products:

1. How long does one 60ml jar last ?

The number of treatments is based on prescriptions, but typically, a jar lasts for 12 treatments. If a patient who consumes 0.5g of Hydropothecary's dried product wishes to substitute it with an oil, they would take a teaspoon of oil. Of course, the comparison is based on the amount of THC present in the product (capped at 30mg/ml by Health Canada), and does not take into consideration the bioavailability of the THC or other factors.
so if one dose is 150 mg THC, that means it will take 15 capsules or gel caps for one dose as they are only allowed to hold 10 mg THC.. imagine if those were in suppository form..

Sounds like Colorado has some dumb shit regulations too. 5mg per dose? I'm sure it would effect someone who had never ever tried cannabis before. For me? That's nothing. I'd have to eat at least 80 of those to get close to a standard edible (minimum) dose for me.

the question for me is ...where is the product coming from...?
are they stealing it off the buds...they intend to sell...? is it coming from moldy un-sellable product...
sure a few will chime in with sugar leaf....or cleaning up machines etc...etc...
still don't matter if you can not prove where the oil came from....
the rec market has been turning shit crops into oils forever....still don 't mean people would like to buy it...

Here's the thing. Cannabis used for oil doesn't need to be QA'd the oil itself needs to be QA'd. So in theory the LP could use cannabis that didn't meet QA and turn it into oil.

10mg is considered one dose down there. But you can still buy high mg edibles it just states how many dosages are in the product.

they can theoretically import a bunch of weed or concentrate to make oil from, as well..

Oh so no further security needed if you're importing? How is it legally suspose to enter canada from another country? Is there a secure shipping method hc dictates?

An LP would need expressed approval by HC to import or export cannabis. This is done on a case by case basis. Being a LP doesn't automaticall allow you to import or export.

Meanwhile back at the Lay's factory "what should we do with all these moldy spuds?" Sell them to the pringles factory!
Probably not legal but it's OK to make oil out of moldy weed.... some would figure once that lot of weed that gets the do not sell stamp has to be destroyed... now whether they do it or not... I dunno
