hey fellow dwc/bubbleheads and riu crew
i have just built today a bubbleponic system and i want you guys to tell me what i need to change ,fix, and how to do it
i have tried this before but did not stick at it, but this time i want it to work so please help me
this is what i got
9lts of water
1 small pump (really small)
1 clone (strain is a cross)
1 12lt bucket
2 air pumps
2 air stones
1 net pot
canna nutes
b-52 sups
super thrive
hydron rocks
rockwool cube
and clear poly tube
ok i know you dont need to know all that but if it helps
ok i built the unit sprayed it black
the water pumps water to the top via poly tube and its has a dripper on the end to slow the water flow
2 air pumps airating the water ,the water level is 2 inchs below the pot
the water to the plant is a very slow drip 24 hours a
In the pot is 1 inch of rock then the rockwool clone the drip is then butted up to it, then the rest of the pot is fill with rock
The nutes are canna veg mixed at a rate of 2 ml per lt also added are b-52 at 2 ml per lt and super thrive at 4mls per 9lts
The ph is at 5.8, i dont know the ppm as i dont have a meter
The plant is outside under 14hrs sun a day and building
ok so look at the pics and tell me how to improve
thank you for your time

dont have experience with that type if system
but prob cuz u r keeping the medium too wet....let it dry out between waterings
or slow down the drip if thats the prob

yeah thats what im doing as we speak do you think the color of the bucket (was white)
will stop the roots growing down because of the light in there ,cause most roots grow in the dark

nah,i dont think that will do that
but itll be a good idea to paint it black or wrap some kind of insulation around it to prevent algae growth...itll prob help with water temp also

so all it looks like is that im giving it too much juice so the roots are not searching
like i said i dont have experience using rockwool or drip system but that seems like that is the prob unless u stressed it some other way
how long has it been?
and how full is the bucket? ur waterline should be about an inch from the bottom of the pot
edit:i just noticed ur pic
yeah its way too wet

I don't water my rockwool at all, just let the bubbles create vapour and keep it moist from below, and in a couple of days the roots are down at the water.

yeah im thinking about giving this way a crack. i will just water from the top till roots hit water dnt see any point in a pump im just gonna fill the bucket so the water is resting on the bottom of my mesh pots

mate i notice your rockwool cube is covered in algae get some aluminum foil and cover ya mesh pot

The plant is going great now a big taproot started and hit the water so pulled the pump and started using nutes at 1300 ppm
the root system has got larger and I have dropped the water level a little running it at 5.8 ph and things look good
I've got white widow in what's the avg yeild on one of these in a dwc setup

you expect 9 pounds from ONE plant?

Good luck trying to get that my friend, that like 144 ounces, you'd need to grow an absolute monster plant for that and I mean something that would have to be like a literal bush or something that is like a tree.

im not to experienced with hydro but 1300 ppm when your roots are just showing seems a little high, does anyone else have a thought on this, dont want to see him burn his plant up when hes just gettin started.:bigjoint:

Good luck killing your little clones there with 800PPM water. Should be 300PPM at absolute max with your roots just popping out.

What's that, 9lbs including the stalk? No way you yielded 9lbs dry OR wet harvest.
