Chiesel Full LED - First Time Grow

Update: Just watered, 1 solo cup and 1/4 for Chiesel #1, a solo cup to 2 and 3. Added about a teaspoon of epsom salts to their watering jug, pHed it and watered. Hopefully this epsom salt will hold them off till the cal mag. I've lost numerous leaves, now. Large bottom leaves have fallen off with healthy leaf stems. Typical yellow brims and brown spots appearing. I probably should have given them cal-mag the very day of the flush but hopefully I can get them through this deficiency then I plan to switch them to flower.

Bilge you should consider foliar feeding them the Epsom for quicker results. Have any Epsom water left? Spray them with that. Food grade Bone Meal is good to add to the Epsom for a cheaper and more adjustable Cal/Mag. How's your soil? Was the pot light before you added the Epsom? I ask cause they looked a little overwatered in the previous set of photos (clawing), but that could be from flushing. And they do look a bit yellow. Maybe a little N is needed? Foliar feeding them some and a bat guano dressing later would be a good choice of action IMO. Have you posted any photos in the Plant Problem forum? You should get as many opinions as you can before going any further. Would be a shame to lose those and goddamn I wanna see some hot LED Chiesel action!!!!!! :)

Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice Fran. I ended up soil feeding them the salts about a table spoon per 1 gallon dissolved. I'm going to try the foliar method and the Cal-Mag is en route. I may end up posting this in plant hospital as you suggested.

Here's some pics of a few dead leaves that have fallen off

Journal: 1/15 - Chiesel #1 watered with a solo cup and 1/2, epsom salted water
1/18 - Flipped to flowering, 12/12 cycle 3 AM to 3 PM
1/22 - Watered 1 and 1/2 solo cup per plant, 15 ml of Tiger Bloom added to 1 gallon and pHed to 6.4
1/28 Watered 1 and 1/2 solo cup per plant of remaining mixture plus 5 ml of Cal-Mag Plus pHed to 6.5
2/2 - Watered 1 and 1/2 cups per plant of pHed to 6.5 water

Temps have been 71-78 normally staying somewhere between 72-77. RH has been 45-60%mostly a steady steady high and low 50s. I've encountered what appears to be a cal-mag deficiency and have fed them 5 ml of Cal-Mag Plus on 1/28. I'm going to be feeding it some more Cal-Mag on its next nute feed which will be next watering. Flipped them into flowering on 1/18 and they are now 2 and 1/2 weeks later, showing buds. Chiesel #1 (top left) is doing the worst and as you can see has canoeing and clawing leaves along with some severe leaf shrinkage. If you look at photos of her before you can see she was much more robust compared to the current shrunken leaves. The other 2 Chiesels have not shown this leaf shrinking but have shown the yellowing of the Cal-Mag deficiency along the boarder of their leaves along with some dark brown spots which indicates more of a Cal-Mag deficiency to me. I have not fed them Cal-Mag via foliar feeding yet but have considered it.

It's been a rough ride with these plants but ultimately I messed up by popping them in too hot of a soil, lets hope that I can salvage some results :)

Good job sticking this out man. I'm amazed they're the same plants from the beginning of this thread! How's the watering going? 24oz sounds like a bit much but you do seem to be getting some good results. I would water a little less and aerate the soil beforehand, could really help those poor abused roots but that's just my .02 cents. And it's still not too late into flowering to spray them with Cal/Mag. Gets the Cal/Mag were it's needed quickly. Think about it and +rep for not being a quitter :)!

Ty Fran I got that Cal-Mag Plus in not only 10 ml per gallon in today's feeding but also a foliar feeding. I've learned a lot from this grow as it is, and will be starting a new one the very day I harvest the current!

Update: 2/8 - Foliar fed 1 ml of Cal-Mag Plus per 710 ml of water, lightly sprayed careful not to get the flowering sites too wet. Watered 1 and 1/2 cups per plant of pHed to 6.4 water/nutes, nutrient mixture PPM is 1,000 (had to adjust pH up from 4.9 to 6.4 after the combination of these nutes and R/O water), 10 ml FFOF Tiger Bloom and 10 ml Cal-Mag Plus.

Watered 1 and 1/2 solo cups per plant on 2/14. Temps have been 72-76 with an RH of about 55-65% humidity. Chiesel #1 is flowering despite her damage, it's amazing that she has managed to put out some nice ones with the state of her leafs. Chiesel #2 is showing extreme yellowing to the point that any leaf that isn't a bud sight is turning bright yellow.

Other than that, they are doing well I am seeing some frosty results forming :bigjoint:

2/19 - Watered 1 and 1/2 solo cups, pHed to 6.5, 994 PPM, 10 ml Cal Mag Plus, 10 ml Tiger Bloom, 10 ml Grow big

Temps have been between 71 - 77 with a humidity that's dipped from 44 to 72 due to a malfunctioning humidifier but has remained a pretty consistent 50 - 65 for the most part. Replacement/repair/cleaning of the humidifier will be done. What I'm observing now appears to be a combination of deficiency and burn that's somewhat confused me. For those of you who have followed my log you have seen that these girls were popped in very hot soil which was my first mistake for not cutting my FFOF with perlite/light warrior as has been suggested to me. You've seen the flush process where even after the first flush there was still signs of massive burn. It wasn't until the 2nd flush at the end of December that they finally cleared up and began exploding with growth but quickly developed numerous deficiencies. So I've tried to identify the deficiencies, did so as Cal-Mag and underfed due to the flush, treated it as my log shows (last few pages). Now I'm seeing burn again. I don't think I have overferted seeing as how they've been growing since October and have had no additional nutrients whatsoever and 2 Clearex flushes being allowed to dry out, stay wet. etc. until I found something that worked to fix their initial burn.

I'm 100% sure that my next grow is going to be smoother than this because starting out I didn't have my water completely sorted as my R/O system wasn't in at the time. I hadn't added the co2 bag, humidifier and extra light (Deep Purple, which is for veg growth) etc. I just want to complete this grow the best I can before starting my next one. They are 2 days from being in their 5th week of 12/12 (flipped to 12/12 on 1/18) and I'm seeing deficiencies and burns everywhere but I'm doing everything I can to pH test again and again, as long as it takes, very carefully to get a good 6.4 - 6.5. I watch and count the days between watering and notice that the waterings vary widely. Sometimes I've watered them and they've been fine without a watering for 6 days and other times I'll wait 4 days, decide I'm watering them on day 5 and they'll show signs of underwatering (leaves drooping), so it seems like there is no set amount of time the pots will hold water that I can pin point to an exact day so I'm going to be keeping the watering to every 4 days as a semi guideline at this stage.

I've been giving them a nutrient feed every other watering and have kept track of PPM in my logs. I've been making sure to shut the closet door during their dark period every time and I've made sure to regularly check the fans, equipment etc. I've kept my watering containers clean and made sure to be gentle handling the plants themselves, exposing them to the least amount of stress as possible. I'd like to find tips on identifying what could be causing this amount of yellowing/burn/deficiency and see if any of you have suggestions for some teas or elixirs perhaps that I should try or changes in my nute feedings/schedule, mistakes I've made etc. (I see that there are lots of dead leaves on Chiesel #1 and I'm going to go in and remove them).

It's still burning quite a bit, but its in a more sturdy stage so it wont hinder growth to too much. When i used FFOF i never went over 800 ppm with nutes, not even at final ripening. I also like to vary my PH, some times its 5.8 then up to 6.0 then to 6.5, just so it lessens the risk of having a deficiency. You've come a long way buddy, it's been quite the struggle but you're almost there!!!

Temps have been 69 - 75 usually 72-74. Humidity between 50 - 65%, only dropping into the 40s for a short duration.

6th week of flowering as of tomorrow. I had been giving them 10 ml Fox Farm Tiger Bloom every other watering as well as Cal-Mag Plus since 1/22 (4 days after the flower cycle flip) every other watering but recently added 10 ml of Fox Farm Big Bloom to their nute regimen. I'm seeing burn that is progressing fast so I will not be feeding them anymore Big Bloom. I have decided to lay off the nutes for their next watering until I see a slowing of this burn. They were watered on 2/25, ph 6.6 with a PPM of 487 and 10 ml of Cal-Mag Plus.

Keep in mind half this grow was done under only 1 Kessil bloom light with only 1 other additional H350 added recently. I'm excited to see what could happen with even more LED power and a soil that isn't hotter than the sun, lol.

Well, I still haven't decided if I should get a Kessil or not. I love your plants under these lamps, but have you ever thought about adding another supplemental light? Probably will help a bit more.

My next move may be for a panel to supplement these supplemental lighting fixtures! :D
