Chris' 2nd White Widow and Mystery Seed CFL Grow

Heyyyo Chris, sry havn't posted much latley, still around though and check the forum when I can and had to stop by your wonderful weed museum!!! heh I'm tellin ya people, Chris has the best damn pictures of plants man, it just really gives people a great view of the plant and what its different parts look like. UP CLOSE lol I bet it can be a pain and take time to upload all those so thanks for the time and effort again man...

Everything looks groovey this go round, except is this one looks even bigger?? I'd have to go back and look at the first one and compare, not sure but those stems look super long and tall!!! woohooo I agree with someone who posted before saying she looks like a movie star with all those lights lol it looks really cool like that. Sucks that you ran out of smoke, did the 1st WW go fast or is it just about that time? I can image its hard to wait that extra couple weeks for it to get bigger but its prolly worth it. I think your idea to harvest half then the other half would work pretty good. It definetly seemed like it took a while to cut it all the first time so that would give the second half time to bud out more I supposs...

What did you say again with the harvest time, is it the longer you wait the more up head high or is it the shorter you wait that encourages the sativa high? I may have it all wrong, it may be more complicated than that, I cant remember...

Also, I've been trying to learn more about the c02, I remember you said you used a homemade method and it seemed to work pretty good...Sorry if you said it before but I just cant remember, can you give the run down on c02 again plz...how to mix it, when do you start using it, and how often does it need to be refilled and all that stuff?

Heyy watsup man. yeaa long time no talk. lol. and thanks for all the comliments man. =) yeaa it is a pain takin these pics.. especially since my camera.. well.. my moms camera.. lol.. isnt that great.. its just a cheap camera.. probly costs like $60... but once i harvest this plant.. and sell an O.. im gonna buy a new camera.. get a nice 12-14 megapixel one with a nice zoom and macro lens. =) cant wait! and ill be upgrading to a 250 watt HPS.. adn still have a few CFL's along the sides. Its nice to have sum1 thank me for all the time and effort. =)

I am thinking about only updating "fully" once a week.. i know she'll be done on a few weeks anywayz.. but this journal is not as popular as teh last one.. soo taking 30-40 pics.. 2 times a week.. lol. is just gettin a bit much.. since theres not many ppl following along.. its not even the pics that are a pain.. its taking her out of the closet.. cuz all the wires are hanging.. and she's so big, so wen i pull her out.. she gets caught on everything. and it bends branches and stuff. =/

Im thinkin ill take her out on Tuesdays.. adn take pics and watnot.. and then on fridays.. ill take pics of her while she's in the closet. =)

lol. yeaa this ones bigger.. instead of only 3 weeks in vegg.. this one went almost 5 i think? in between 4 and 5. =) i actually did it on accident.. i wrote the wrong date on my lil sticker.. soo i thought she was younger. lol. then i found the original paper with her sprout dat and was like holy shit! lol.

yeaa i know.. it sucks not havin any weed. =( im gonna harvest a branch off her soon.. once i can find a small/decent one. but i wanna give her like another week b4 i do. and idk. i was comparin pics the otehr day.. adn this 1 seems to be flowering at about the same speed. =)

and yeaa i was looking up tips about WW.. adn a fe websites said she will be ready in 8 weeks.. but if u wait 9 or 10.. she will really frost up ALOT! and the buds will continue to grow as well.. but they said the frost will almost double in the last 2 weeks.. adn thats wat i want. lol. adn im also gonna give her 24-48 hours of darkness the last 2 days.. and i MAY cut back the lights to 8 hours of light ON and 16 hours OFF.. the last week.. thats supposed to stress her out and make her increase the resin production... we'll see tho.

yea i wanna try to harvest 1/2 on week 8.. adn the rest on week 9 or 10.. but idk.. we will see wat happens. lol. and yeaa, it took me like 2 days to harvsest 1/3 of the plant. lol. im a bit of a perfectionist wen it comes to that. lol. but its worth it. =)

yup yup.. u got it right man. =) the EARLIER u harvest (the plant will have more CLOUDY trichs rather than AMBER trichs.. and trichs give u the INDICA "stone" couchlock high.. sleepy high. lol) the more of a SATIVA/Uppy high u will get.. and the longer u let it go.. the more amber trichs are on the plant.. and so the more INDICA stone high u will get. =)

its fine.. its pretty simple.. you just get a 2 liter soda bottle or juice bottle.. (it doesnt have to be exactly 2 liters) and pour 1 cup of sugar in.. and 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast in as well. u can find the yeast at shaws or w.e... like 30 or 40 cents a pack.. madd cheap. lol. but yea so after u add that.. u just add warms water.. you wanna fill the bottle up about 3/4 of the way to the top. =) and shake it up a bit (with the cover on or with ur hand over the top.... lol. i now us stoners forget simple things like that). until all the sugar and yeast are mixed properly.. i eve like to add a little HOT water in the bottle 1st.. before i add the sugar and yeast..adn shake that up a bit at 1st. that seems to help. =).

and yeaa, so after u have it all mixed up.. find some tubing.. like the kind u find from a fish tank.. and get a knife.. or hammer and nail... and make a SMALL hole in the cap... **make it as small as u can at 1st.. and try to fit the tubing in.. and then slowly make it bigger as needed** cuz u want the tube to be as air tight as possible.... and thats all u need to do! =) then jsut place the bottle above ur plants.. since Co2 is heavier than air.. it will fall to the bottom.. soo its good to have it above your plants. it will not be active at first.. it takes a few hours for it to work.. and it will last about 2 weeks. and u wanna shake it up every few days.. cuz the stuff tends to settle to the bottom. and it actually workds really really well. adn its REALLy cheap!! u can find a big bag of sugar for like 99 cents at sum stores.. and i got 3 packs of yeast for $1. which is about maybe... 6 tablespoons?? and the water is free.. adn the tubing is free. =) the only thing that might cost a lil bit of money is the tubing... if u dont have any at ur house. but if worse comes to worse.. i think u can use a straw?

yeaa, shes doing great!! the buds are growing more and more EVERY day... its looking great. if she keeps growing at this rater.. by week 9 or 10.. shes gonna be HUGEEEEE!

yeaa man. it works great.. adn it wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper than buyin one of those Co2 tanks. lol. just make sure its above the plants... and that u change it out every 2 weeks. and you'll be good to go. =) it works especially good in the summer.. cuz the plants can survive higher temps with Co2 in the room. =)

I work in a grocery over-night and the ice cream bins come in with a bunch of dry ice they just throw out. I have been dropping chunks of dry ice in a water bin in my closet for the last 2 months. Can't really tell if my widows like it or not. Haven't had any probs at all though, it's my first grow so I couldn't tell ya if it has any effect or not. I am not worried about it being too saturated either, the closet is well ventilated.

My buddy's White Castle was sprouted a week after mine, but his shit looks like it will finish up a good 2 weeks earlier. Since my grow has pretty much been a mirror of yours, I might as well follow you through your harvest as well. I like the idea of giving it that extra two weeks you were talkin about (though I have no shortage of smoke, I feel ya on that bro). I never heard about stressing her with only 8 hours of light. Obviously I am going to need to scope the trichs to get the desired effect I want. I am not much on the "couchlock" highs, but I do like your idea of harvesting half (in my case 1 plant) early and let the rest sit a while.

Either way I am gonna get at least one branch cured for the 4th O' July. Nahm sayin?

hmmm. that dry ice is an interesting idea? lol. well as long as it has no bad effect then keep it goin i guess. lol

and yeaa well even tho his is only a week ahewad of ur.. honestly.. once the plant gets to like week 5/6ish.. you'll be surprised jsut how much bigger the buds will get in 1 week.. i bet u in 1 week. urs will look like his did. they grow soooo mcuh in just 7 days. its amazing. and yeaa, ima try to give her the 2 extra weeks. it sais that wen all the crystalization happens.. we'll see. i remember what my plant looked like last time... soo i'll know if theres a big difference.. adn plus. all i gotta do is check out my last journal.. and compare pics to see wether or not the extra 2 weeks really helped or not.

and yea the 8 hour trick is something i jsut read about like a week ago.. if i can find the page i founf it on.. ill post it on here for ya. and yeaa, im not much on couchlock highs either.. thats why im a lil hesitant on letting ehr go the extra2 weeks.. =/ id rather have buds that arent as frosty.. and give me te high I want.. than to have buds that are crytally.. adn just put me to sleep ya know? if i was sellin it.. then yea the xtra 2 weeks would be a deff +.

and yea if u dont have a scope... theres an even better way to tell wen its ready... just bust out the sciccors... trim off a bud.. dry it out realy quick.. and smoke it.. if u enjoy the high.. and its not too "couchlock" then harvest it.. but if its too uppy.. and u want to "mellow" the high out a lil.. wait a fwe more days.. i think thats better than a scope... cuz no scope can tell u wether or not you'll like the high.. thats sumthin u need to decide for urself. =) soo keep that in mind. thats wat made me harvest at 8 weeks too. i smoke it and really enjoyed the high i got.. soo i chopped her down. =)

and i only have 1 plant going as well. =) wen i said harvest 1/2 i meant cut off maybe the main cola.. and a fwe side branches.. and leave the lower popcorn nugs and a side branch or two to finish out the 2 weeks.. but idk.. we will see wen it comes down to it.. cuz im paranoid about letting her go TOO long..and getting the couchlock high.. =/ in my opinion.. i'd rather cut her down too early than too late. =)

Thats coo though so you'll be able to compare results to the 3 week vegged one since all other conditions are about the same, it will allow ya to know what the extra vegg time really does for it. I'll sure be tuned in to see!

this camera is a 6 mp camera.. its a sanyo.. or usmthin like that. Hmm. thats wierd.. wen u put it on the flower setting.. and get ready to take the pics.. (u might already do this. lol. but figured id say it anywayz) just kinda gentyl push down the button that takes the pics.. and it should adjust to w.e. u r tryin to take a close up of.. have u tried that?

like with mine.. if i jsut go up to the plant.. adn push the button.. it will be blurry as shit.. i have to push the button gently.. and the lil square in the center of my screen turns green and beeps.. and then i push all the way down on the button.

and yeaa at 4-5 weeks its usually fully mature. usually it will show pre-flowers.. which this 1 did. after 2 dayus under 12-12 it showed white hairs =) lol. and yea i FIM'ed this plant as well.. adn thats why it has TWO tops instead of ONE.

im gonna go through and find the far away shot i always take.. adn find 1 from each week just to see how much she has changed. =) and ten i will add the pic from tomorrow to it. =) i LVOE takin the pics tho.. i almost wanna take sum now!! lol. but na ill wait it out. =)

I know what you mean. Just the last 2-3 days have seen some major fattening. I was getting a little concerned about the size of my buds when I looked @ your pics, cuz yours is about 5-7 days further into flowering than mine. Shit, now they are starting to plump up like a swollen thumb. About 20% of the hairs have turned red/brown, but the white hairs are still shootin' up. Lookin' mighty frosty on these bitches, I can only imagine how much frostier it's gonna get.

Earlier I was sayin that I was planning on harvesting 1 of my 2 plants (They are named Peggy & Kelly Bundy if anyone cares) 2 weeks earlier than the other. Peggy has been bigger and stronger than Kelly from day 1, and is obviously more mature & will have a higher yield (not too noticeable unless you are as intimate with the Bundy girls as I am!).

Anyway, Chris, I was just wondering which one you would chop first & which you would pop back in the oven for a while. The more mature (Peggy) plant, or the slightly less mature (Kelly) plant? I kinda like the idea of having some widow that is a little mild and some widow that will funk your world.

Yeaa thats good that they're all fattening up. =) mine fatten up daily. i LOVE it! and yea white hairs will be poppin up for a while.. especially 2wards the end.. they go through one last growth spurt.. usually around week 6-7. and yeaa man.. if you let it go for an extra week or 2.. it really frosts up.. and im gonna try lettin it spend 24-48 hrs in complete darkness right b4 i harvest. =) to increase the frost. =) i will let u know if it helps or not so u can try it.

ummm. well if u want sum thats a lil mild and sum that will "funk your world" lol.. then let the bigger/more mature one go for longer.. adn harvest the less mature one first. cuz the more mature one will already be a lil bit more powerful.. and soo if u let it go longer.. it will just get more and more powerful.... and if u were to let the less mature one go.. since its already a lil behind... even if u were to let it go a lil longer... and harvest the other (maturer) one early.. there wouldnt be too much of a difference.. ya know wat i mean??

Alllrighty guys time for an update!!! as i said before.. from now on.. I will only be taking the plant out on Tuesday to take pics.. this thread jsut isnt as popular as my last one.. and its alotta work just to get her out of the closet.. without bending branches and stuff cuz shes so big and the doorway is so small.. and this things heavy as fuck! and i end up takin like 40 pics too. lol. soo its alotta work to be doing twice a week..

but doont worry.. i still will be doin pics of friday.. im just not takin her outta the closet of them. im just gonna take pics of her while shes in the closet. =) allllright well heres a quick descr.

shes doin good.. as usual! really fattenin up now!! some branches are fatter than others.. i added another 23 watt bulb to the mix. i put it hangin right in front to give some of the popcorn nugs (the ones towards the top of the plant tho... not the small ones.. these ones are pretty big) sum extra light.. the colas are fattening up now as well.. and about 3-4 nodes are connected now on each cola. still alotta white hairs on the main colas and a couple other branches. but hte other ones are being over-run by red/orange hairs!

idk if i jsut got luck with both of these WW plants... or if its the soil... or just the way im growing.. but these last 2 plants have just grown PERFECTLY!!! barely any smell.. very high yielding.. wen u touch the frost.. its very fruity smelling and tasting wen u smoke it.. the leaves stay nice and green.. stay bushy.. buds look great.. very frosty.. very healthy. lots of bud sites.. can be ready in 8 weeks.. easy to manicure.. due to great bud-leaf ratio.... the weed is very strong/long lasting as well.. and low anxiety/social high..... i mean.... what more can u ask!!??
