So i just got done reading my email from blackstar about there new "chrome" series. I've seen a couple pictures floating on web but no real info. here is what ive discovered so far....

We do have the Chrome series in stock already but our programmers and graphic designers are still working on the listing (description, pictures etc). They come in 4, 6 and 8 spot configuration, each spot contains 15 x 3w Cree LEDs, 60 degree lighting angle (so the intensity and penetration are unparalleled). The Chrome 4 will therefore be 180w, the 6 - 270w and the 8 - 360w

^from Blackstar. the watts are actual draw.

The Chrome 4 sells for $286, thr 6 for $395, the 8 for $510. Shipping is free.

^price seems very good. cons= i havent found dimensions yet, and there is some info that wasnt answered in my first email about bands/cooling etc.
overall from what ive seen grow journal wise and what this guy is telling me these lights i think are badass and im getting one!

check PrezDiz grow. light workin badass..
another one on THCtalk with the chrome with amazing results.

ahahah sorry but having a nasty flu am right here those days!

Hey wadz, sorry to have a laugh on your thread, but those guys still talking about cree it's a piss taking.

Why don't you check the apollo from cidly? I mean if you wanna save cash.. They are the makers of chrome anyway

cash isnt issue. im just trying to find a decent light for my gl60. want to get newest out cause it seems like led are like computers. you get them home and there outdated in a way..
i was looking at area51 cause lifetime warranty etc. Solar flare cause 5w diodes.. but it seems from what i gather on threads and from you guys not one led has it all together yet. i do know about the blackstar and "cree" issue. but the guy ahsnt responded to my email #2

I would do Cidly, I'm pretty sure they make them for Blackstar. I asked about 3x10000K white, 2x460nm blue and 10x660nm red per 15-led module. I wanted something very similar to the Evo but a little more blue. I was quoted $203 for an Apollo 4, $269 for Apollo 6 and $340 for Apollo 8 shipped. So you could get 6 module for the price of a 4 from Blackstar.

I think Im going home... lol.

Just ask Blackstar exactly what spectrum they are using, then call cidly up. Its a no brainer.

well here is the picture that PrezDickie posted of his Blackstar CHROME (the only one known to exist):

so I really don't see how your info and that picture match up... do you?

Looks more like:

8 - 630nm
4 - 660nm
2 - 460nm

here was my concern to them as i stated..

did it change? i see pictures on web that show different. this picture is off a forum thread of a guy with the blackstar chrome who took some pictures off it. i dont see 10 630nm i see 8. so to me this doesnt match what you told me. sorry to bother once again. im looking to get close to the spectrum i want without building one from a manufacture and waiting weeks. its the 4 spot model. i wouldnt think the 6spot would have diff led setup. maybe if it was a 21pod unit..... but there all 15. so its same spectrum you guys are having mass produced by whomever. probably cidly <chrome is apollo> looks anways.

this was there response...

yes, you're correct, this picture that you attached and what we have in stock right now at this moment is 8x630 and 4x660. The next batch we are getting (will be here in about a month) will have a slightly different ratio - the one I emailed you. So all orders being placed right now or for the next month are the same as the picture. this is going to be the new setup.

10 - 630nm
2 - 660nm
2 - 460nm
1 - 12000k

here are the pictures they sent me from there warehouse..

that picture you put up Wadz is the picture i posted on the farmer and bubbleponics the other day. Just so you can see the difference between the old and new versions.

these new lights are working well so far. They do work differnet than the older model though due to the different lense angles. Im looking forward to checing out the new chrome 900s when they come out. The older 900s work badass!
