Cleaning a commercialy made chiller

Hey all,

The chiller I got has instructions saying to clean it every four months with either water or expensive flushing solution. I found some better cleaning instructions on a reef site. Do this every two months.

What you need:

A 5 gallon bucket
1 gallon white vinegar
2 gallons water

Mix the vinegar and water in the bucket. Put your pump into a pump bag, then into the bucket. The pump bag filters the water, keeping debris from going through your pump and into your chiller, always use one. Hook the pump to your OUT hose so that it pumps the vinegar solution through the unit in reverse. Put the hose from the IN connector on the chiller into the bucket. Plug the pump in and let it run for at least four hours. I let it run overnight. The next morning, dump the bucket and replace it with fresh water. Run the pump again to flush the excess vinegar out of the chiller.

Do this every two months, it will make your unit last a lot longer!
