what is the best way to clean out an old ass nasty bong??

iv tried boiling it but theres still nastyness in it.... please help iv got to ship it somwhere so it must be super clean
 
pour some very hot water through it, and then get kitchen paper and a stick and rub.............................................:joint:
 
Cleaning it with salt and water works really well. Just fill your bong up with water and salt and start shaking. The salt will help work as an abrasive material and break away all the build up inside while breaking down some of the harder stuck on residue. It also really helps to have a wire brush cleaner to really get everything out.
 
There is a couple of cleaing products I use. Spray Nine is the best by far. If I don't have that Goo Gone works just fine too. The Spray Nine gets it right out, spray it in, swish it around and it is all gone. :mrgreen::peace:
 
rubbing alcohol works well. A friend used oxi-clean and said it was better. I'll try that some time....
 
just heat up some 91% rubbing alcohol in the microwave and swish it around. Water sucks, it doesn't dissolve the resin!
 
Rubbing alcohol with epsom salt...the salt act as a friction agent, helping the alcohol do its thing.
 
rubbing alcohol, never tried the epsom salt, just regular table salt but it takes that shit right off. might take a little time and elbow grease but itll sparkle once again
 
rubbing alcohol and salt is what i use on all my pipes and bongs, they look brand new when im done.

however do not use alcohol on plastic bongs as the alcohol seems to break down the seams where the base meets the tube.

if im using plastic i use hot water and salt.

The problem with all these solutions so far is, they make your piece taste like alcohol or salt for a while. Use 420 Cleaner, by far the best, the all natural works best

91% iso in the nuke? i dont know if thats such a good idea,, after all it is flammable

straight up isopropyl alcohol (99%) works best because it is the tar you want to remove and that tar that is not water soluble so you need a solvent to remove it.. iso just happens to be to most easily accessible liquid solvent with a relatively low evaporation point and with no impurities other than 1% water.

not if you rinse it out afterwards with hot water than cold water (make sure to let your bong cool down before putting the cold water in.. it might not be tempered glass and could crack)

The epsom salt won't dissolve like table salt does.....try it next time...trust me:hump::joint::peace:
 
The Spray Nine cleaner doesn't leave any smell or taste after cleaning. Just make sure you rinse it out good after any cleaning.

It's fine, alcohol has a lower boiling point than water, put it in the microwave for 20 seconds and it will be fine... plus there's no open flame

I've tried almost everything.. 420 solution smells nice, but iso alcohol and rock salt def work the best. The chunky rock salt works better (for me anyway) than table salt, and i don't notice it disolving at all in the alcohol. just rinse it good once it's clean. If ther is any alcohol smell left, it will be gone in a day. :blsmoke:


edit: never tried nuking the alcohol... not really necessary.
