Clone not looking so good.....

I got a clone the other day and hes not looking to good. Its a soil plant I water once a day havent started nutes or anything has 3 cfls and a 18' aquarium light on it 24 hr lights on . soils real dense water will sit on top before absorbing. Any ideas on what I should do?

You should not have to water that often - let the soil dry befor watering again.

think I overwater? the soil is awful cant transplant it yet considering how week it looks

You need to add some perlite to that soil mix to aerate it. I would go with 1/2 perlite if you water is pooling at the top of the container. You are drowning the roots - they need air too.

I just add perlite on the top and it will aerate? is there any other way I can aerate the soil ?

Is transplanting the only option I have? I dont wanna let this plant die

Transplanting it should not kill it, unless you literally just yank it out of the pot it's in now. let the soil dry out quite a bit, then squeeze the sides of the pot to loosen it from the sides, have your new pot and soil ready. Gently pull the plant and as much soil as possible from the current pot and put it in the new soil/pot, then water it good, without drenching it. Watering every day is what has hurt your plant, they don't need that much and your current situation is the result of that.Keep the soil relatively airy, not so compact, and only water as needed, usually once every 5 to 7 days and your baby will show marked improvement.

Have you never transplanted before? If not, it may seem confusing; it's actually surprisingly easy considering how nervous people will make you about it. Just get an appropriately sized container, fill it with soil up to a point, and make room for the plant's soil/root mass to be inserted. I'm not sure how rooted this clone is, it may just have tiny roots. Just carefully loosen the soil of the old pot from the pot's side, and turn the pot over (prefereably over the trash or something to avoid mess) and gently slide the plant and its root mass out. If it has any significant root mass, the soil will be bound to this. Just plop this dirt/root mass into the new container, and fill up the new pot to the top, or so it's even with the plant's stem. good luck!

transplant it into new fresh soil with reg nutes. it looks like yer stems are redish, so it might be too cold at night, get some humidity in yer room, my clones look similar. they will ahng on, just transplant soon into like a milk gallon container
