Clone questions

Hey everyone,

I recently took some clones from my recent crop. A buddy of mine wanted 4-5 and im trying to help him out.

They have been in the aerocloner using neoprene collars for 7 days, started showing first sign of roots at day 5.

Questions
Hes gonna plant them in soil, is there a safe way to transport them to his house without ruining the clones/roots?
or
Should he just bring the pots and soil to my place and i do it here? less exposure for clones?

Is there anything else i should know about moving from cloner to soil?

ill take all the help and advice i can get, id really like these babies to be successful for him, he could use a break.

Thanks

Just take a bunch of paper towels and get them wet, take the clones and lay them on the towels all together like a bunch of flowers and roll them up and pop them into a zip lock. They clones will have transplant shock because they need time to adjust to soil, so don't add stress to them by giving them too much light or food at first.

As Hotrodharley stated, the glass/cup of water will be fine. That 5 minute drive they won't know the difference.
So I take it you fared well with your new cloner?
Since there are going into soil,I hope you didn't let them root too long. If not, they should'nt droop or have any shock.

Da freak was spot on. Low light and feed until they get settled.

Ya man, this cloner is easy lol, works very well it seems .

one started showing roots at end of day 5 and the rest have been slowly following along.

They still arent that long yet, heres a few pics from yesterday morning, i just peaked in the cloner and already see a big difference from yesterday.

Nice! You are soon to be a cloning monster!
Yea,they are easy and work quite well. Looks like they love your low ppm water as well.Glad it worked out for ya.Hadn't been to the other thread, lost it lol.

Also, that first one is nearly ready for soil IMO. Is that extra stem Under the roots or an optical illusion and just another clones stem behind it?

Ya it's the stem from the clone behind it lol

So number one is about how long I want roots before transplant ?

What size container are you going into? My fault,I should've added...that is about the root growth development I'd go with,if not a day or so more if I were going into a solo cup of soil. This is usually my first transplant. Just to get a nice root ball established before going into my final container.
I run a soiless mix and or coco/perlite my roots fill up the solo pretty quick.
I don't want to give you bad info,so if you are going into anything bigger than a solo cup or the 5" planter pot with soil,a day or two more might do ya some good. It's been quite a while since I used soil.
So,I'll stop here lol.

You should be good Diggs. I had bare root clones shipped to me. They were in a plastic zip lock with some liquid. Looked scrappy for a few days after putting them in coco...then all was well.

Here's my DJM method bishes. All in Coco solo cups.
Been hitting them with Mega Crop @ 1.0 ec./500ppm.

Whats gpj on that pump? You have a ton of sprayers on there!
400 gph max, you think it's too many sprayers? I didn't really know how many I needed , based it off a few examples I've seen around here.

Ya I think he's putting them directly in 2-3G pots of soil.

You have been nothing but helpful bud, I very much appreciate it.

Yes, you can feed them and they will grow.I've never flowered in my aerocloner so I won't go there. However, you can veg them puppies for a while.Of course you have to treat that as a mini res and keep up with it.I've kept clones in my cloner for 3+weeks.They eventually became moms.Root pruning, bucket changes, some defoliation and some
bonsai-ish type pruning helped in my situation, because I can be a lazy gardener sometimes.:bigjoint:

They will veg fine. How long? Eh, I don't know. They may get too heavy for the neoprene.Maybe some net pots in conjunction with the neoprene and that sturdy cooler lid will suffice.

Are you wanting to veg them in prep for flower? If so how long of a veg?
Will you be transferring them into a final flowering setup or wanting to run them in the cloner for flower also?

Aeroponics is certainly a grow method that I haven't looked into. I'm guessing but maybe it'll be like a bubble bucket or dwc except with mister heads.
I'd suggest looking in the Aeroponics section, you may just be able to convert your cloner over seemlessly.

Pilfer on! It's all 1 inch ID pvc. Found the 3-way tee corner dealios at local Lowes. My home depot did not have them on the shelf.
The legs can be swapped out for differing lengths. The frame is glued so it won't pop apart at the worst possible time. Lol
