Clone Went Into Flower Early

Hi community thank you in advance. This is my 3rd season growing so im still new to it but also have learned alot. Ive done the same process every time and never had this issue before. This year I got clones from a friend of a friend rather than the club. This year they came pre planted in 1 gal plastic pots. In the past I've kept the clones under 18 hours of light and 6 hours of dark then slowly harden them off and by June 1st I leave them outside, im in northern California. This process has always worked for me but this year 1 plant has started to show pistols and pre flowers which is odd seeing as how its a small tiny clone still and hasn't received any more than 6 hours of dark. Does anybody know what else could have caused this? Is the plant toast or will it revert back to veg and be ok? Its early enough to where I can grab another clone and start over. The other clone under this same regimen looks fine only 1 clone has begun pre flowering. Any help is greatly appreciated.
