Clones: Led or T5's

I am building a grow closet for clones. I will only be having about 6-8 clones at a time. This closet will be small as far as height. I am only using this to get clones to root and to veg them for a couple weeks. Should I go with some t5's or a 90w ufo. I like the idea
of the led taking less power and no heat. Anyone use leds on there clones. They will be moved into flowering closet which is 400w hps to kick them into overdrive. What do you guys think?

Im pretty sure LED are no good for cloning.... And all you need is a 2 tube t5 setup mines 48 watts(2 x 24w) and i do 20 clones at a time no prob.

Also heat wont be an issue with t5 unless you are putting it in a small closed up cabinet with no ventilation.

Why no veg time either...? If you don't make sure those are some pretty big clones bout 8 inches or so or else you'll spend more money on power and nutes then your crops even worth.

I did say veg time. I said about 2 weeks veg time on the clones. I have herd leds do great in clones and veg. Just wanted to see what everyone here thought. I can extend the time on clones. Not a big issue for me. Just want to know whats the best route. Couple t5s for one of t he new 3rd gen 90w ufos.

Basically what im saying is when my mother is picked of clones she will be ready to flower. So the cab that i veg in will turn to a flowering cab. So i only want to have one other spot where I have the clones and when they root I want to veg them in the same light i used to root them. So sense I want to root and veg the clone in the same place what whoulld be the better option. Will t5 give me enough power to veg with after they root under the t5. I just dont want to set up 2 big cabs for flowering and vegging.

I would go with the T5 HOs they work really well and will prepare the clones for the lumens from the hps. If you go from LED to HPS your plants are gonna need some time to get used to the HPS. LEDs can work but I usually dont see people to hyped up about them once theyve tried anything like T5 or HID.

Peace,

Sounds like a plan. I think i will go with the t5's. Thanks

Sorry I didn't see where you said you planned on vegging for a few weeks, that'll be fine. If your only looking into the 90w ufo then i would now say more then ever to go T5. LED tech does work but you honestly need a 300 watt led panel for any impressive results. So in your case i would get a 2ft t5 4 bulb system that put outs 10,000 lumens. HTG carries it, sure you know. Thing kicks major ass, just take out two bulbs while your cloning so the light isn't too intense. They say its the same as a 400? give me a break try a 250 watt max. I've seen led grows done by personal friends with a 90w 3rd gen and wasn't impressed(he sold it).

My local hydro shop carry's the elooma brand 90w led and is trying to get $300 for them and has 3 grows going right now, one on lettuce which is doing great, one for peppers which are all retarded and deformed and some basil which is growing at an alright rate, all in dwc.
