Clones take too long to root?

Yea man, I totally agree. Keep it simple and there wont be any issues. I told you that my set up was hella cheap and has worked for me in the past. I have used this method but am starting to wonder if possibly my powder went bad or something. It is about 6 years old and was on a shelf for like 4 years untouched.. Would that affect its rooting hormone?

I am not even using the powder anymore with the cups and saran wrap covering the cups. Cloners are not as easy as everyone makes them out to be. They suck and cost too much. Good luck keep trying tricks and gadgets eventually you will try what I suggested. I would think the powder is ok if it never got wet and isnt clumpy or anything but try a few without maybe to see. Good luck

i totally agree. through trial and error ive found that put cuttings in rockwool and give em 12 hours dark. after 3 days when there perky i transplant to keg cup or #1 pot and the cutting takes off. fyi to every one else #1 always cut clones 7 to 10 days before u flip switch. gives u time to cut more if needed. 2 bigger is better only take clones on day 40 or after makes a sturdier clone. tops are great to use as clones. 3 always have 2 nodes buried under medium. i cut 90 deg and skin lightly....lightly delicate. u dont have to do it. try new things. i use riot cubes or a soiless medium 1 part perlite 1 part vermiculite 1 part peat moss. i use a small amount of clonex in water i spray and water. hope this helps. f try different teckniques to see what works for u....

Honestly the soil just keep the rockwool plug in place, they do have trays that hold the smallest rockwool cubes but I use soil and when the clones root I just grow em in there for a few weeks while the root zone builds. You should be able to use the hydroton in cups. The plugs are pretty cheap though its like 100 for $13-$14

Can just stick that into the hydroton. You can also use those cubes in your cloners w/o the hydroton.

Heres the cloning tray that holds the small cubes

(thats prob better for your setup, after they root just take out of the tray and put into your hydroton. I know ya got money invested into the cloner, this is just another way in case you dont like the cloner :bigjoint:
