Clones wilting when removed from aerocloner

I removed 10 last week, put them in moistened soil and 8 made it. I took out 8 more a few days ago and put them in perlite. I watered lightly. Some of the roots were long enough that they wereon the bottom so I know they shouldn't have dried out. I used some clean cups so I could see how much water I actually put in each. Only bout a half inch of water at bottom of each cup. Like I said roots were long enough to reach the water at the bottom but they still wilted. What's up with this shiznit?

They become addicted to the High O2 levels, I set mine to run 15 mins every hour to make them less dependent.Back in the old days I transplanted a plant from a bubbler DWC system to Mix and it took it a month to get used to the lower O2 levels..

pre moistened soil did it
add more perlite
add plant ...gently
then water using very little
treat as if over watered

You said you had a half inch of water at the bottom of each cup, you do have holes so water can drain out the bottom of the cups right? If not you're drowning them.

Like a hempy bucket with a cup. The roots were 6 inches long. Only half an inch was in the water. How did they drown.
