i've tried it. if you get them the first week or so while they are on that first growth spurt and before hairs appear they rooted for me rather well. i took some later (it smelled so go when crystals appeared i had to have more) after budding sites developed. they rooted but it took a lot longer and a lot of them rotted due to moisture at the budding sites. so yes you can take clones but i wouldn't.
the 2 small ones on the right are from a budding plant. the others were taken during the veg cycle.
You can clone a budding plant but it isn't advised. Why make a clone at a time that is not recommended? Some strains are difficult to clone why make it harder by doing this at the wrong time? If you are organized and half way schedule things this should not be a problem.
i have broke many branches during flowering, in my garden these root quicly under flours. just cut them rockwool with clone gel and wait 10 days for new sun leaves. they will still grow fine and show vigor withing 2 more weeks
lol 5 out of 10 have roots so far,all still live and kicking, you can see the roots coming out, check out my pics i love it,so yes you can clone a budding plant
