cloning af's.. helppp

my friend got a auto critical jack herer as a freebee but it was only 1 and he wants to know if it can be cloned early or at anytime to get multiple afcj's going for one grow. or is it just better to sprout it and let it ride as 1 lonely lil guy

Its not a good idea to clone an auto flower because once its large enough to take some cuttings it will already be flowering. Since its an Auto you can't send it back into veg. because of that constant auto flower hormone. Im sure you could clone it, but you just end up with a small plant as 1 big bud. (AKA a lollipop)

ok what about breeding it or herming it to produce more seeds.. could it be bread with a semi purp male thats waiting or would it be better to herm it so the seeds would be the same strain

Drew nailed the question about taking clones.

Yes, you "can" take clones, but since you'll have no way to keep them growing vegetatively, all you end up doing is reducing overall yield as your cuttings all flower at the same time as the mother plant.

Because the autoflowering trait is recessive, if you cross auto plants with non-auto plants, ALL of the ensuing F1 offspring will be NON-autos.

If you want more autos, you have to then cross the F1s with each other (or backcross them with the auto parent) and then SELECT for the autos.

The only way to get 100% auto offspring is to cross two auto flowering plants.
