Cloning in plugs

What did I do wrong. First time trying to clone using plugs15521842507587680905495745895029.jpgThere not taking. All I can think is maybe there to long? They were cut and done about 8 hours ago and just never stood up. I'm used to cloning in these (pic at the bottom) with damn near 100% success every time. I did about 15 for a friend and he gave me these 3. There fricken Wedding Cake, Gelato 33 and true forum cut GSC too. Luckily there were taken from bottom branchs that were getting discarded anyways. Hopefully they'll stand up but it don't look good15521846813569193374858844699174.jpg

Turpman's probably right. Your humidity might be different than your buddies.

Sprits them. Put a freezer bag over them with a some fork holes on either side :)

Another idea is if you planted them right in the premade hole sometimes they don't get a good "Seat" in there. It's best to put push the cuttings stem directly into the media beside the hole somewhere so it has good contact with the media.

They should be OK hopefully. They don't look like they are drying out too badly yet.

Agree ... too much leaf matter leads to evaporation.
There's no more or less leaf then any clones I've done in my hydro cloner. I've done hundreds of clones. Just never this way. One thing for sure is something didn't get done or go right

Do you think I should put them in my hydro cloner? Not sure than can be saved but better then not trying I guess. Wish I would have done that to begin with. Damn it!!

A lot of new strains seem fall over these days years ago can’t say I’ve seen it ,a lot of the guys just seem to panic when they do ,relax man give them time ,I’ve had some new strain lay right down on the tray kinda funny when you’re been doin this shit for years,a little darkness after cutting them seems to help

I do mine just like that in screened promix hp and almost always get 100%. The plug looks a little dry and rotting cuttings is the one time when a bit of overwatering is a good thing. I do mine in a dome but never spray the cuts. Just the inside of the dome. They often droop for the first week then start perking up as the roots begin to grow then ar up and happy a few days later. Temps are usually around 70F or lower when I do them in the bedroom closet so they take a little longer but I'm never in a big rush.

The more serious issue is, you have mites.... and you are about to spread them further with those cuts.

I would deal with it now, The only thing worse than walking into a room with your best buds covered in spider nets a week or two before the finish is walking into a room with botrytis.
