Cloning in water

I have 5 mother plants and I’ve taken my first cuttings, in a jug I put the recommended amount of advanced nutrients to 1 litre of water and added some green focus root stimulator

I put the water into mugs about halfway up

I cut my cuttings at a 45 degree angle, I scraped the bottom of em and placed em into the mugs according to strain.

today is a day later and I’ve looked at em and there’s a lil bit of like a skin on the top of the water, is this dangerous? Do I need to change the water everyday?

I would use straight water if the clones are nice and green. If they are sucking up nutrients they won't feel the need to root so fast. They make root to go searching for it.

I have cloned in cups of water, it took a couple weeks to get root. Use clear water and change it ever couple days. It will get dingy you will be able to tell.

If you are using coco you can directly plant into coco. When you water aim for moistening the coco like its a big root riot cube and don't soak it.

It's easy to clone in a cup of plain water. I've done it with all different types of plants.

BUT, Change the Water Everyday! You could go a couple days, but I'd try not to. You don't want to try cloning in stagnant water. If you added some aeration to it like with a aquarium pump and stone then you wouldn't have to change the water much at all.

You can plant straight into soil too. That's what I usually do. I also don't use a humidity dome anymore. And it's super dry here. It's actually 15% in my veg tent and below 10% in my flower room right now. They either survive or they don't. If they don't I'll just pop another cutting in the pot. Sometimes I don't even use Clonex, but it does help I think.

Have you sprayed? Touched the buds? Overfertilized? Pollinated? Heat damage? Fan damage?

Could be anything, its too hard to tell in that lighting. Can you get some pics under normal/white light?

the lights are off now so I’ll take em tomoz, I haven’t sprayed the buds but I do touch em to smell my fingers after. Could be nute burn but I’ve cut back on the nutes to maybe 2/3 of recommended dose as I’m sure full dose and the summer temps fried my last crop.My temps around 25 - 28 and that plant is RIGHT nex to a fan but I didn’t know fans can cause damage?

Its probably the fan, I still wouldn't touch the buds. If the buds get hit with direct wind from the fan and don't get a break from it they usually take some damage. Its best to have a large arc on your fans. The leaves in path of it will usually have some damage also if this is the case.
