Cloning Questions…

I have several clones I took in week 4 of flowering. But stayed under 12/12 for a few weeks following clipping from mother plant. They are in rockwool blocks now but I have a few questions..

1) How moist should I be keeping them? (How often to water)

2) I’m doing it without rooting hormones so how long do you think before they’ll actually root?

3) Should I feed with any nutrients at all? Or plain water?

4) If I have more of the same genetic seeds would you continue with the clones or start fresh from seeds?

It wont cost you anything to see if you can actually get those to root while you start some new seeds. You didnt leave enough actual leaves on the cuts but it might take since they havent died already. I would trim off all those lower larfy bud sites and just leave the very top and hope for the best.

Yeah they were lower sites that weren’t getting light anyway so would’ve died. I just figured I’d give the a try and they were going to be cut regardless to allow higher more dense sites to grow and allow the plant to focus on those. They’ve been cut off the mother for about 3 weeks now in water. Placed in rock wool on the 12, so 5 days ago

You may have been better off with them in a cup of water so you have a clear view of what’s going on at the base of the cut.
I’ve brought back some straight up dead bodies after the flip.. but none with nugs like that, and damage to the foliage.
These are recent cuts & comparisons “then & now”

Ive cloned flowering plants the same, buds on a stick, took about 21 days to root and another 21 days to get back into proper veg, it works no problems at all.

I had to do it to save some genetics it was slow but worked.

Yeah that’s what I’ll end up doing w these. How moist should I keep the rockwool cubes? And how much light (hours). I play to start another type from seed while I get these in order since I’ll be harvesting in two weeks and don’t want to waste time in between.

I clone under 18hrs, just don't let the cubes dry and don't keep them to wet, normally I dip the base in plain water every 3-4 days and just get a feel for the weight, but that depends on your temp and humidity as to how often you add water, if you wanna just pick up a dry cube and feel the weight then lift the cube with a clone in it, the difference is water.

I used to have great success by just sticking the cuts in the top of my tropical fish tank. Now I use a small, lidded tub with an air bubbler and heater. I cut a few holes in the lid and stick the rock wool cubes in them.
I don't have them in direct contact with the water, just the spray from the bubbles keeps them moist.
No dome or clone gel, just tap water.

These are 7-day old cuts. No roots showing yet but judging by the perkiness they have probably started rooting.
