Cloning tops to sex plants?

Hey guys,

I really want to get a scrog going on my current grow, but I am not sure of the sex of my three seedlings yet.

from what I have read, removing males from a scrog is an absolute nightmare and so it should only be done with guaranteed females.

however i was thinking, if I let the plant grow a little bit longer, then top for four colas (like you would for a scrog)... I can put the top in a small bubbler under a 12/12 or 10/14 light to flower it. Thus within like two weeks the top will show sex and I can remove the males accordingly.

Does this seem like a decent idea?

Bump! I'm not sure if this is a really stupid question and that's why it's getting no responses, but i've never cloned or topped before so =S

People might be not answering because it's not really an advanced question. Yes that will work. Tops can be cloned just like side branches.
