cloning whole 2 week old plant..

i have a 2-3 week old plant growing in a small pot and its about 5 inches tall and growing well...
Problem is im a dumbass cause i bought miracle grow potting soil and it has small mites running on the top of the soil, i dont want it to contaminate plants other plants so i wanted to clone it but the branches are not nerly big enough to get a good cutting, can i just cut the whole plant into a clone and prep it like normal?
ive heard the bigger the cones the better, i have only cloned a few times and dont want to lose my plant its one of the last few seeds i have from my first harvest and want to save the strain

Actually, smaller the clone, the better... At least thats been my experience. Why don't you just wash all the soil off and replant it, and do something to deal with whatever its infected with... If its your only plant and your not experienced cloning you could lose it if you try to clone it.

im over having it in soil, always gives me problems i just want to get it started in hydro cause i have better luck with it. and washing out all the soil and transplanting is just as risky as trying to clone the whole thing

Well, I dont agree... Washing the soil off is not a big deal as long as you are careful.
