cloning without root hormone?

I have a plant thats just finishing vegging and i want to take a clone, i did some research but i still have two questions.

First, is it possible to root a healthy clone without root growth stimulant gel/powder?

Second: can you root a clone in soil or is rockwool/perlite way easier?

Any imput is appreciated!

You can clone in soil or hydro. I think you cant do it by just putting the branch into soil.

So i used the method you described That 5hit, it went well. i took a shoot from the bottom of the plant, peeled off the leaves closest to the cut, and cut the fan leaves in half.

I then cut a gallon milk jug and cut it down the side, slid the whole clone in with the shoot coming out the mouth of the jug. i then taped the jug upside down to the glass of water. I am hoping this will increase the humidity while the clone roots.

Does this sound effective? is there a better way to make a clone root without hormones? Also is it safe to leave outdoors?

hey dude just some insight..... i took 5 clones off my mother plant a 2 weeks ago using the same method and all 5 had roots within 10 days.... i didnt use i humidity dome either

thats awesome, you just threw the cuttings into water and let them go? thats what i did, i hope it only takes 10 days that seems pretty quick i was expecting at least a couple weeks. thanks for the info

yeah i rigged up a humidity dome out of a milk gallon jug and attatched the mouth of the jug to a glass full of water. seems to be working so far, no roots but the leaves are all perky and the clone seems happy. time will tell!

i never tryed water before but i always cut without root hormone. If the plant is healthy enough then you wont need root hormone, i have got roots in 4 days up to 2 weeks with or without hormone. i use a humidome and peat pellets and spray once a day with a mist of water.

You def need a humidity dome or something to keep moisture in or they will dry up on ya.. Happened to me it sux
but... you dont need one... maybe its cause of where i live that i dont need one but i did not use a dome. i just kept an eye on the water color and put them in a window sill that got minor sun.
