cloning

Its because you are just trying to clone LEAFS...

LOL... I noticed that too... of course the reason it popped out at me is that I made the same exact mistake the first time I tried cloning. I must have read tons of information on cloning before I attempted it... yet for some reason when I went to do it... I only grabbed a leaf :dunce:. I couldn't figure out why they were dying... then as I was staring at them one day ... the light bulb went off and I realized DOHHHHH I only cut a leaf!

My next attempt went MUCH better... and they are doing just great!! :D

ty for the replies- I am still really concerned about how droopy they are-

should I do something to correct it? if so what will help?

While it is not uncommon for clones to be droopy while the root system is developing... those look really droopy.

I think you definitely need to keep them under a humidity dome for the first 5 to 7 days.

The first 10 days of mine I kept the CFLs on 24/7. I also only turned on 2 of my 3 cfls. You might want to clip some of those leaves in half as well.

I'm not sure about the rockwool.... I've heard good and bad about them... I like the soilless starter plugs.... they work GREAT!

Don't worry too much.... droopy is ok.... it's when they start turning yellow or brown that you know they are dieing .

you have to take a cutting from the top of the plant or where ever there's new growth , starting a plant from a leaf can't be done and I'd go with Rootech

once ya get cloning down, its soooooo easy and u will probably only on a rare occasion use seeds.... best of luck to u...

yea cloning is uber easy , I got it my first time trying to clone and it worked awsome , and yea if you can keep mom plants then buy the seed strains that you want and keep em as moms so that you don't have to start from seeds again unless you don't have the room:peace:

Took me a bit to figure out the best for me. But doing well now. Killed a few after rooting, but baby steps! Cloning is the way to go. Always have females that aren't fem seeds (so breeding should work well) I got lucky first seed was a female and a great plant. Tight nodes, healthy, looks like good genetics. I have a male (i think) growing for stud uses.

I'm using Vita Grow rooting formula (used to be wood's. Heard someone say you could root a popcicle stick with it. Got it free when bought my lamp and I tried to buy Dip-n-Grow) and Rapid Rooter plugs (or just rockwool in an aerogarden)

stop trying with big ass fan leafs on your plant where your gettin the fan leaf there should be another branch growing from the same site but heading up not down take this branch and clone that trim the leafs if you have to cos your losing alot of well needed moisture i like half coke bottles as humidity domes 1 for each clone happy growin hope you nail soon peace

thanks for all the ideas! I am still working on this. I cut off the dead leaves and still not root after five days?(using Schultz TakeRoot powder form Active ingredient:Intole-3-Butyric acid .1% Other ingredients 99.9% from Walmart) this time.

I dip the edge of the rockwool in water to moisten it when ever they dry out and have kept them by a window with indirect sunlight, whille my 1000W MH is off. Always with heating pad underneath it.

I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed. and keep babying them. Though I may try some NEW clones tomorrow?! Im SOOo SO SO SO SO SO so so anxious to get past this point!!!!! :D

I'm sure things are gonna grow exponentially once i get it down pat. And I couldn't do it so fast n well without all your help :)

well they were doing fine under the 1000W MH-3 feet away

And then I moved them into my closet under flouros 2 -5 inches away so that I could have them on 24hr while the rest of the grow was on 18/6. and after one day of that they were crazy shrivelled up...

I realize it's possible, and even likely, that you don't have enough moolah for it, but...I truly do think that buying an EZ-Cloner is a good investment. 95% or better success rate with clones, and it is soooo hassle-free. Fill cloner with water, cut clones, dip in cloning gel, put in cloner, wait 10-12 days, bam, pile of rooted clones, couldn't be any easier. I have a 30-site cloner, and I have more than once gotten 30 clones out of it, no failures at all.

There are three pieces of equipment that I have been *extremely* pleased with. The top of the list is the EZ-Cloner, followed by Lumatek digital ballasts (been kicking ass for *years* now), and lastly, Eco-Plus fans have been rock solid reliable for me, again for a number of years, running 24 hours a day.

keep them misted make humidity dome if need be and fuck buying an ezcloner you can make one for a fraction of the price with just as high success rate
