cloning

I started with 11 high quality maui wowie seeds. and I ended up with about five plants. Two of which i am pretty certain will be female. I have a 1000 watt HPS. I would prefer to have many more plants before flowering. but i need some advice on how to go about it.

Should I grow a couple plants large and destroy them for clones?

Or can I just cut a few branches and let the main one continue to grow?

what is best course to have a good first yield ASAP.

Ok here goes take both as a mother start by taking clones from one mother only take from bottom to about one third up not all at once give her recover time 2 weeks then take some more by then your first set of clones should be ready to transplant then after you have tooken second set from first mother wait 2 more weeks and put her to flower, then 2nd mother should have excellent clones to take with more strength and thc ect. do same.

ok i am trying to do clones now- but they are not surviving. any thoughts?

I notched the end of the stem, dipped in root hormone, put them in rockwool with PH6.5 water. placed them in a tupperware container with heating blanket underneath. and checked a few times each day spraying w water.

Its because you are just trying to clone LEAFS...

You need the whole entire stem!!!! Go to you tube and watch some videos there....

This is a new one I havent seen, but then again I can understand how easy it is to get confused about where to cut on the plant....

Also 6.5 ph water is wrong. You have to prepare the rockwool by soaking it for a couple hours into 5.5 ph water, then flick the excess out of it.

Add clone.

Thanks for the quick reply Ganjagoddess

i took some better picks for you to see exactly what is going on.

i think there is stem on them. is it enough?

I only soaked the rockwool cubes for about 5 min. however they are still wet.

The container was closed, 10ft across the room, getting only indirect light for the last three days.

Since that didnt work, I've placed them under the 1000w HPS now- 4ft away from light.

I'm reading some on cloning. will check youtube asap. any additional thoughts appreciated.

You need to cut the right part of the plant in order to have a successful clone. Cut the part that has an actual growth shoot coming out of it.

Leaves don't really clone (without a lot of screwing with) They just root and stay a single leaf at best.
Go for branches with multiple leaves on the stem/branch. Cut 1/4 inch bellow and internode.
Drop in rooting compound and put in the rockwool that has been soaked for 24 hours in the 5.5pH water. Cover with a humidity dome (the 100 pack CD spindle covers seem to work nice) Keep temps around 80F.

I soaked rockwool cubes in pH 5 water 24 HR. shook excess water off them added 25mL solution of pH 5.8 (35% H202 9mL to 2.5 gallons chlorine free tap water)

Then i cut bottom branches from mother at 45 degree angle, removed lower leafs, scraped lower inch, sliced center of stem tip, dipped in powdered root hormone, placed in rockwool, put on plate, 4ft under 1000W MH.

I could use some feedback asap as plants look pretty droopy... which is far from encouraging.

THANKS!

They look better this time. But a light on top of them. Preferably floros. Put them far then move them closer and closer.
