Closet grow set up?

Hey guys,

I want some suggestions on a small closet grow. From lighting to humidity control. I want to do a really good grow for my first time. I want to break into this and start my journey. I want a set up for two or three plants literally in a closet. I would like to spend about a thousand dollars as my budget.

A grand should more than cover it. A few hundred got me going. I can give you an example that is my setup. 250W hid lighting, a 3x3x6 grow tent. A 200cfm fan and a 4 inch Mountain Air carbon filter. A timer with grounds not the el cheapo kind, and some ducting. Nutes you will get a great a varied response. The last run I had I pulled over a q.p. dried with just some cal/mag and jacks classic fert. Lots of people will tell you to use a bloombastic super duper flowering nute. Do what you feel is best. Do you have a specific closet in mind?
If so, post the dimensions of it.
Length, width, height....

Any other details that you feel strongly about are also helpful.
There are so many options and variables that knowing as much as possible is necessary

It's a simple set up but, if it's working for you, it's enough.

I grow in a closet (2x4x and use a 400w HPS....inline fan with ducting to pull through carbon filter, hood and able to exhaust into attic...I am actually in the process of upgrading/changing it up and purchased a 2x3x5 grow tent (used $80), Area 51 LED ($500), bought new phresh filter ($75). I am utilizing my same inline fan 4" 180 cfm ($130). I did this to make my setup a little more stealth, LED produces less heat, less fans, less noise (can lower speed of fan). Also the light I ordered is meant to cover a 2x3 area and I do a small grow. I originally was doing 4 in that space but got it down to 2 plants that I train and scrog so it will fill in and produce as much as 4. I felt it was easier to manage less plants as well. I do dirt and use DynaGro nutes ($15.00) per bottle (Grow, bloom, ProTekt). Will need some PH up and Down as well. PH meter or test kit, TDS meter maybe too (not required upfront but useful). I am getting between 3-4 oz per plant, last harvest with my HPS was 7 oz did some mainlining (no scrog). If you make a separate veg/clone area you can harvest more often too....HID light will cost less upfront than LED but you are going to run into heat issue's, require more exhausting, fans, bulbs, etc...How big is this closet? The one downside of the LED is coverage area but if your in a space like mine the LED would be a wise choice. Now if your in a walk in area that is 4x4 or larger then you may to stick with HID or will go out of your budget. I wouldn't go less than 400w unless your telling me you have a small area like 2x2 or something.

to be honest nutes of choice is the growers coice since its you who will be feeding your plants not us.

i took on the same nutes i used when me an my sis use to grow together int he past which were normal femmed seeds . and them nutes were Old timers organic plant magic grow an bloom an it worked great with auto Northern Lights and My blue mystic grows to date.

next nutes im testing is iconic hydro nutes if i ever get the rest of my close to 1 grand buying limit i gave myself recently to jump from cfl over to hydrop wilma

so really the bottom line with nutes is trail and error your find out whats ideal threw trying stuff out. OR if you can find growers iny our area, they might reveal thir own choice of nutes used.

The closet is 3x3x6. I am looking at a 450 6" CFM fan with carbon filter. Do you think that fan will work?

The most important things I want to do are to keep the smell and noise down.

My suggestion would be 600w HID(HPS), dimmable get that fan with speed controller. Fan is prob overkill but you can dial it down and this setup can grow if your area does too...

No smell, No noise, No issues.

Here is a link to my grow closet 2' X 3' upgraded to A51 LED and Phresh carbon filter with extraction to attic. I pull between 2-5 oz per plant and harvest up to five plants (5 gal air containers) per grow. Lot of pics on my site and links to my threads below. I started with a 400w HID cool tube but ran hot in the summers. Converted to LED and never looked back. Good luck!

Yeah man it's working just fine. Could probably yield more but it suits my purpose just fine for now.

get some white paint or some mylar slap that over the walls take a 8lack trash 8ag cut it and put it on the ground so the light goes to it awsomely 8 23 watt cfls and a ocilating fan

and get some ona gel and make a dope ass smell obsorber
