Hello I'm William, I am a cancer patient with testicular cancer I'm 18 and I'm planning a grow room in my 4x4 closet and was on a buying a set-up and am on a tight budget(never underestimate how shitty healthcare prices really are). And I know a bit about growing I want to assemble a grow closet from hardware/garden supplies. It's very much appreciated for and tips or links to other posts and I thank anyone who is reading and stay medicated :)

Hi there Ww58! I was wondering if you were planing on growing with soil or Hydroponics?Right know I grow with soil to keep it simple.

Hi William, First decide how you want to grow I wanted simple grow so i chose soil and lights CFL (low temp).
Then what High/Yield are you aiming for.

You'll get more precise answers ;)

If you click on "advanced search" put "grow guide" and "search titles only" option. sire something will pop up to help your decision ;)

i just built a patient buddy of mine ( in so-cal ) a grow box, it was 6' long 2' wide and 5' tall. he bought all the electrical hardware, wood, cfl's and a reverse osmosis system, it was about $420 out the door at lowes. took all day to build and wire, thats what happens when you dont have a set of plans, but he has within this build, a flower area, a veg area and a clone area. he will be able to do 6 girls at a time, all will be topped once and lst'ed. kept to under 2.5' tall.

he did not have to buy reflective material, fans or nutes cause i had some left over from mine. but he does need to get timers, a ph meter, soil, more pots and thermometers.

specifics on your budget are really going to be required to properly answer you. There are so many ways to go, and budgets can range from $20-$20,000 so 'low budget' becomes way too vague.

where you are just starting out though, I'd suggest checking like the above posted says into online grow guides (several good ones here). Also don't neglect books. They are invaluable, and if they don't fit in your budget there are some free (and some pirated) electronic versions of many of the popular grow books.

And it really depends on how much time you have for it. Less time means making your grow to be most automatic and minimum things to go wrong.
If you want to buy some book, I would suggest Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower’s Bible from Jorge Cervantes
Or the video, which sums up pretty much all the basics - also from Jorge Cervantes: Ultimate Grow DVD I (2006)

What i found trhough "search""
First one looks really good, with lots of pictures ;
Jester88's Basick Grow Guide & Some Planting Times
Ranger Danger's Guerilla Grow Guide!
The best newbie grow guide in history debate is over!!!!

Good luck ;)
