Setup my new 250 watt MH system for my mother plants and my flannel jacket touched the bulb which had been on 3-4 hours out of the box. It has a small burnt spot on it and I took it out tried to clean it off because it was smoking a small bit. It didn't come off at all it is like a small layer in that spot. What can I do? It's on currently and I'm worried about it bursting or catching on fire or whatever LOL. What should I do and what are the concerns, I have attached a picture spot is like dead center of the bulb.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 600watt HPS and never had this happen my tent is smaller than my bloom room though lol won't happen again. I figured it would be fine. DO you guys think that spot will go away or...?

Another quick question. Does this look like a MH bulb or a MH conversion bulb. It is suppose to be MH and ballast is magnetic and suppose to only run MH bulbs but I have never seen a MH bulb without the fat part in the middle. This is shaped like my HPS bulb

I had this happen with a plastic like fabric meant for landscaping, it never burned off, just left a black mark on the bulb. I ended up carefully scrubbing it with a green kitchen scrubber and some dawn dishsoap and that did the trick.
