I've read a bunch of contradicting information on the subject. I'm wondering what everyone thinks about this. What is the best lighting?

1. CMH all the way
2. CMH veg and HPS for flower
3. MH veg and HPS for flower

Vooooote :leaf:

Post some pictures if you've got any.

I use T5 for veg. First week in flower room it's mh on 12/12. Then hps. CMH just didn't cut it for me.

I wonder what % use T-5, CFL, or LED to veg........
Probably quite a few. Due to heat, energy efficiency, cost, etc. It's just a much easier choice over HID lights. I'm not looking for what the general consensus on lights is, though. I'm looking for what the best is.

How many bulbs? What bulb combination? I'm glad you have experience with CMH. What specifically didn't cut it for you?

I use a T5 6 bulb. 2 are red 4 are blue. CMH didn't cut it for the reason I couldn't get hight out if them. I did fim and top but still I could get a tree with mh. What I wanted to go up went out. And I couldn't get to the plants. And i might of messed up somewhere but it brought out the purp in my plants. My guys want the green.

The light could have very well been the reasoning for purple buds. I have also heard that CMH keeps plants nice and small. I have a narrow, but tall space. So I think it's safe to say I personally won't be using CMH. Now that I think of it..I will probably stick to my t5 8 bulb for veg. I'm probably going to order 2x 400w for the flowering stage. Hopefully I have the money by the time I'm ready to flip to 12/12.

Let's start this light/ventilation fund lol. $200/1100 :leaf:

I will try to get this by November 14th. Wish me luck lol.

Im all CMH. I get super good growth and all the stretch you need. This Chernobyl had no problem with height. Too much in fact, but thats this pheno. I love the hell out of them. UVB baby, lol
Heres the top ft though (like 18" of stretch underneath).

Never tried the cmh but for veg i also like the t5 with 4 blue bulbs and 2 red in each fixture. I def get better growth compared to the mh's i was using. Plus less electricity i think

Nice, the radiation is good for growing trichs. also it's good for growing tumors if not careful.

Yes, but not spectrum. the ultraviolet radiation is mostly a factor in the philips cmh, not a hps bulb. A reptile uv light puts out similar radiation.
