Co2 burners in small rooms

I'm almost done setting up 8x10 and 12x15 rooms. So far, the rooms are sealed with spray foam insulation, dehumidifiers, and a mini split is installed. I'm trying to figure out how to provide CO2 in the best way possible.

I want to use burners, but I'm reading discussions where people have issues running them in smaller sized rooms.. build up of ethylene and gas seems to be a serious issue that ruins crops. The other option, using tanks seems like a pain, transporting from the store every 1-2weeks, and more expensive.

Are there burners that are less likely to have issues or built for this type of thing (indoor, smaller rooms)?

I have 8x24 and 10x39 phresh filters on the way for scrubbing and recirculating the air. If I go with burners, do I also need some timed exhausts? Is there a way to have the exhausts sealed and they open somehow with the timer so the room stays sealed when not in use?

I really need my first grow in this setup to go smoothly. Advice/input appreciated!

I connected my venting fan to my autopilot controller. I set the night temp to be cooler than the day temp so when the lights go out it vents the ethelyene gas. I also set the day temp just a little higher than my AC unit keeps the room so if the AC fails the venting will take over and prevent a total loss.

Couldn't you just buy a 4 burner and cap off say like 2 burners? Or maybe they make a 2 burner. And no you do not have to exhaust at all. I do at lights off but its just my controller trying to get my temps down to my programed lights off temps.

This is the argument I've seen that I don't see a definitive answer to. I think I'm leaning toward and exhaust for each room, on timers, every so often for lights out. Just seems not fully sealed even with the fan off during the day. Looking for some special damper or something I'm guessing.

I build sealed bloom rooms with the ability to ventilate. Yes, put dampers on intake and exhaust fans.

When I first made the switch to sealed, there wasn’t much chatter online about ventilating occasionally. In fact it was 100% uneeded to everyone who chimmed in. After a few runs I said fuck it and “dumped” the room. It’s been a must ever since. From my experience it usually makes for a more healthy room. I still am unsure exactly why but it does. Especially in sealed rooms with generators. Ethelyene gas? Off-gassing of other things? Lack of O2?(i doubt). I dunno.

Rooms with bottled co2 i’ll only dump at lights out and before light on. Burners I’ll dump 3X’s during light on.

If you have a sealed room and monitor the numbers 24 hours a day , you will see your room drop to about 100ppm of CO2 because of the build up of other gases .


I put positive pressure in my room during dark cycle to keep it at normal ppms .
Not as good as a “air flush” like renfro is doing but same principles .
I seen a increase in yields from this .
@OP you can get two burner units
I use sentinel 2 burner n their controller

Haha no. I’ve had a few issues over the years with generators though. Fucking C.A.P ones. Faulty solenoids getting stuck open. But never fire.

My house burned down in The Camp Fire here in NorCal.

Sorry to hear about your disaster. Lots of people were in the same boat as you. We have a lot of forest fires out here in Colorado, totally sucks to drive by burnt black mountains.

Thanks. Yeah it was fucking horrible man. Barely got out, drove through fire on both sides of road type shit, long story. Could always be worse though!

Still camping out in the new 5th wheel at an RV park lmao. Trying to get the new property ready, all that’s left is putting gravel down on the long driveway and rv pad. It too wet to get truck in :-( and only gonna fucking rain hard again starting tonight! Fuckin.bullshit.

I’m lucky i gave a few of my most prized cuts to my buddy down in vacaville, safe from fires(hopefully) includding the wedding cake that I promised you. I sware i will, but will be a minute ;-)

If you have a small grow for c02
Put together a home made brew and place it in your grow room
Put it in a plastic bag inside a 5 gallon pail. Place a piece of hose in the top and close the bag tight around the hose...make sure the hose isn't in the brew mixture.
That will create c02
Brew contains citrus fruit...juice... sugar...water and yeast. The more yeast and sugar will equal more bubble action which is c02.
As far as fruit...is a bit expensive I know but almost every store has a get rid of rack...usually 50 percent off.

I was wondering, for example: If a 2 burner unit, claiming it's good for areas up to 1000 cubic feet, is "sufficient" for a room near that volume, would a 4 burner unit be better or worse for the same space?
Might the 4 burner unit get the co2 levels up to set level quicker than the 2 burner, and heat the room less in doing so?

@Keesje @Kassiopeija Either of you have any insight? I'm leaning toward 2 burner. Not sure this is the type of thing one goes above needs with and dials down.

I'm a little surprised I'm not seeing more manufacturers of these units. So much discontinued stuff too.
