co2 for 1000 cu ft room

Hello to everyone. I am looking to turn a 10x10x10 room into a closed growing enviroment. I have already installed a 12,000 BTU mini split a/c in the room. I want to run 6x315 CMH in there.

For co2 supplementation I am planning on buying a 0,75kw CO2 generator:https://www.greenspirit-hydroponics....nerator-0-75kw. It can run on propane and on natural gas. My house has a natural gas supply that goes to that room as well. Other than that, considering co2 supplementation I would need a co2 controller and that's all? Do you believe temps would be ok with 6x315w CMH and this model of co2 burner?

I want to grow 12 plants in 15 gallon pots with organic soil. For dehumidifying I would use a 65 pint dehumidifier. How does my plan look? Thank you

I run CO2 generators in my rooms and I have a ventilation system and AC. I let the ventilation system purge the room air when the lights go out. this prevents ethylene gas buildup wheather its from your plants or the CO2 generator. A sealed room should be vented at least once a day.

@TintEastwood: Should be a fun project indeed. I have never worked with co2 in the past.I have used CMH successfully.In the last run almost got 1 g/ watt. Nice link,going to read it more thoroughly today :)

@Renfro:You think ventilation would be necessary? That would be very inconvenient cause I would have to make a hole in the wall.The ideal would be to avoid doing it for stealth reasons among the rest.

Get a REAL co2 controller that actually reads PPM and doesnt just guesstimate. Otherwise you will run more co2 than you need heating the room up.

Ventilation is recommended but you can get away without it especially if the room isn't mega sealed up.

I know ethlyene prohibits the maturation of trichomes. What other ill benefits will ethylene cause?

Thank you, working on finding it :P. Room won't be mega sealed up, I always sucked at those kinds of "constructing" :P.

Couldn't the issue of later maturation of trichomes be resolved by running ~300 ppm of CO2 for the last 2+ weeks?

Is your exhaust fan hooked up to a humidity stat or on a timer?

I don't have an exhaust fan. I have an inline fan connected to the carbon filter which is set on the floor of the room. The inline fan with the filter recycles the air inside the room. I'm playing with autoflowers so the timer is set on 24/0 for the first three weeks and then 20/4, I have gotten through the grows with just one 20 pound co2 bottle.

The reason is that the room is well sealed and I'm growing with organic soil. I am frequently inside the room so exhaling co2 along with microbes in the soil doing their job and creating extra gas , the levels are kept steady at 1000-1200 ppm. It's really a blessing. Last two weeks I open the door of the room frequently and I'm not regularly into the room to reduce PPM to 400-500. It works really well.

My autopilot CO2 controller works just fine in case you are wondering. Before commencing a new grow I put it out of the room and it shows ~400 ppm.

My humidifier is connected to a Sonoff device. I'm playing with VPD so temp levels to humidity levels are kept according to the VPD chart. The Dehumidifier has auto operation mode according to the humidity levels I set it to be.

It's a fresh cold air intake, not an exhaust in my case. It's connected to my autopilot cooling receptacle. I set the night temp lower than the day temp (the AC handles cooling when lights are on) so when the lights go out the controller kicks on the blower for a little bit to take it down to around 75F.

The dehumidifiers are on the humidity receptacle on the autopilot.

I aim for 80F under HPS with 1200 PPM CO2, often it swings between 79 and 83 as the AC struggles to keep up with everything lol. If under LED I would want a higher temp for sure, like 85 - 86F.

Yeah i'm totally getting what you mean with the A/C struggling :P. You are saying that for the LEDS because your actual temps in canopy reach ~85 F with the HPS? Tell you what, i'm using CMH and there also a difference of a few degrees between room temperature and canopy temp.

HPS has a LOT of IR and that warms the leaves, it's leaf surface temperature that matters. With HPS the air in the canopy can be 80F but the leaves get warm from the IR. With LED there isn't any IR so you need to warm the leaves with the air.

When you hold your hand under HPS and you feel the light warmth, thats IR warming up your hand. Does the same for leaves. Hold your hand under a white LED light and you don't feel that warmth, no IR.
