I'd offer to be a tester myself but I'm not as much of a COB guru as a lot of the guys here.

You want to do some testing on a commercial scale, I'm your man. Why? Because I build modules- of everything. Everything I do scales predictably and therefore can be reliably used to extrapolate to large areas.

sure i will try to do a ppfd/W curve over a current range side by side vs a 3590 or two. similar to supra's top bin graph which i found very informative. a holder for it would be cool (if they exist) so i dont have to solder to chip. if not no biggie. ill email you.

CDIweb now has a LED lighting website now -https://led.cdiweb.com/Home/2. I have asked for different info than lumens for a couple of the Citizens. Please tell me what you think? Is there any other info I should asks for? I think there will be tool for this in the future? I am still trying for a discount code, but they haven't officially announced this site.

Ok, I was just told that this ^ data is at 85c, not at 25c.
Could this explain why I didn't see as much difference between 90+cri and 80cri?

I know, it is just I didn't see any difference between a 3000K/4000K 80cri and a 2700K 90+cri. I am not saying the green range isn't needed, far from it. I have been down that road. I am just saying I will separate the 2 better and get a true side by side.

It's difficult to say which test would be better. Ideally there would be multiple candidates including 4000K 70 CRI and 2700K 90+. Agreed on the 3500K 80. Throw in 3000K 80 and 3000K 90+ and it would be an epic showdown.

Equal PPF would be one way of testing. There could be discrepancies in the datasheets from brand to brand so a PAR meter looking for similar readings on center and off center along with some variable dimming capability could be used to get the output pretty close. This would be along the lines of analyzing the efficacy of a particular spectrum and might favor a lower K.

Another way would be to use top bins from the same manufacturer and run them at the same wattage. This would add electrical efficiency into the mix and might favor a higher K.

Not much of a revolution in terms of watt-to-luminosity, but nice decrease in thermal resistance. That's truely where citizen shines: they are easy to cool. My clu-046, now running for 5months straight is constantly 4-50°C cooler than my cxb3070, albight running at 4W more. If only the chips were easier to source....

4-50C is a BIG range. Can you narrow it down a little?

Believe me when I tell you that my CXB3590 chips are running cooler than yours.
