COB passive heatsink links/ Advice 20W per Cob 700ma

We have a nice and cheap alu shop around here. We build heatsinks by getting a wide u-channel extrusion and then glueing a smaller u-channel with tall wings on top of it. Id want at least 5-6 mm of of alu behind the centre of the cob for 20w operation. 10mm for 50w cob.
This is so smart . Great idea , what do you use to bond the U-channel ? I’m going to put some on top of my flats to increase surface area like you suggested .

I might just drill them on so the glue doesn’t act as an insolator.

Bond U channel, or any heatsink material, with thermal adhesive, or two sided thermal tape.
If one were to go the drill and screw method, some basic thermal grease between the surfaces in contact, will improve heat transfer substantially.....
