Cococola's HPS act II

After years of growing, and trying countless lighting/growing styles/nutrients etc.... I have my solid go to growing regiment with 860 watt cmh / heavy 16 aptus / coco/ co2 enrichment. But with that said I had good ol hps equipment that served me well for a long time that was collecting dust and decided to put it back to use. This thread will be dedicated to just that. Two 1000 watt hps hortilux ran with one quantum digital ballast, and one genesis 1000 watt digital ballast. One in an og vert hood and one in an og hood knock off Thunder vertigro that seems to be right up there with it just fine (for less scratch tho! lol)
Here are the strains in two 4x4 tents put together vented with a greengator filter /6" active air fan. 5000 btu window ac keeps tents in the room in check no problem. But i must note they are dimmed down to 75% as these vert reflectors slam penetrating light down a bit more than they spread light out. I've learned the hard way a while ago bleached tops will occur if not at least 36" away at a full 1000 watts in there. Medium used is botanicare moisture formula readygro in 7 gal pots with canna coco nutes I also had left over.

6 ladies Left side: front>Jamaica dream/ back right> CBD crew critial mass/ back left> Thunderbud
Right side: front/back right> 2 BcBud depot The big/ back left> CBD crew c mass indica dom pheno

I knew I forgot to mention something lol, they are one week flower today. And they vegged for 6 weeks. Everything is from seed besides the thunderbud which is a clone

Update time Day 21 of flower, things are moving along quite nicely. And my ballasts are now dimmed to 50% as the stretch has them within 16" from the hoods in some areas, but hasn't seemed to slow down bud growth

Hey folks, those of you who are still here lol, here is an update of closing in on day 28 flower. Big difference a week makes at this point of flower production. I trimmed off all useless lower sites and wimpy secondary branching, along with staking and zip tying branches to keep the canopy in check

Looking good, do you always trim lower sites and do you think it gives you big benefits?

Depends on the height of the plant, but i tend to always trim lower sites if a plant is over 3ft. I wouldn't say the benefits are huge but it does lead to better bud growth to the top areas of main colas and makes it easier to trim.

Hahahaha don't worry Hyroot! thats my second op, i still have my big cmh op going strong and will be updating that today :) Ill most likely be switching the hps out for the 375 watt ceramatek systems after another harvest :hump:
The buds look so good. Getting heavy in there. You could grow danks with candles if you wanted.
Thanks GG def too kind of words....its all in the pheno type you get we all know that lol

Hey Cococola, just an FYI if you want to investigate further, I was talking to Ceramatek about their support for 120v a while back. Their last response suggested they support both 120/240v with their 315W series for running the 315w Elite Agro's. Seemed a little weird to me but could save some money if they perform and are supported. Those ballast are expensive for me here (Canada) when you include shipping/taxes/duty, would like to try them sometime but just a little much, asked them to keep me in the loop when/if they get some distribution here in Canada. Cheers.

I guess theres mot much of a difference between the 315 and 375 watt, so your prob right. Maybe ill get 3 315 watt....hmmmmm I think 3 would be a good match for 2 1k hps, especially considering I have them dimmed to 50-75% the whole time anyhow

And the show is back on, i figured i'd skip to the good stuff and these ladies are now on day 21 flower. All 6 plants are the same mystery strain, (I believe to be bubba kush).Sooo I ran into an issue of power on my breaker, I wanted to change out my dimmable hps for cmh and still can, but would need to def stay with lower wattage bulbs....so for now the hps are still in effect. I put in brand new super horties and have them dimmed to 75%.Putting them both to 1000 watts led to the breaker shutting down as unfortunately they are on 120 volts using too many amps. I also raised my hoods 6" which are now the highest they can go lol. I literally had to hook them directly to the ceiling. The pics tell all as they are beasts about 50" from soil level

And heres the veg room trucking along in different stages...The two biggest in 7 gal pots are strawberry cough, front left in 3 gal pot is green crack / front right in 3 gal pot is blue widow. Then there are newly transplanted clones in 2 gal fabric pots, 3 critical sensi star and 1 blue dream.
