The first time I used silica, my plants were over an inch taller by lights out. Lots of benefits, makes the plant cell walls tougher. I can't say for certain, I can't prove it, but I think it's a lot to do with how I was able to rescue so much of my crop from bud rot. I put 1ml a litre in the water every week and I love the stuff, although there is some debate over its usefulness. I grow in coco though so I think the fact that silica raises the pH slightly is a positive in my grow, I don't know how that works in soil cos I've never used it.

Totally agree! Way stronger stems, fatter knuckles, shinier leaves, bigger buds as well all since starting si

Love the buds. Sorry they broke. I had one fall. Of course I screw things up. I had a small one break off. I just dried it and enjoyed it. I looked at as giving everything below it more light. I'm still learning. These plants are pretty hardy. Thats for sure.

Guys,

Got an issue that i am having problems with. I am 5 and a half weeks into flower and my main colas must be getting heavy as i looked tonight and one of them has almost peeled itself off the main stem, it resembled a
" V " if you can picture it. It was just hanging on and not much more but it must have happened a day or two ago as the open injury sites seemed to have dried over. I have tied string around it and pulled it back but not sure if it will bind together and repair as like i said the open areas look to have dried and "scarred" over.

I have tied some of the colas up and put a few strings round the bottom and centre of the plant to stop the branches spreading out as much.

What can be done to stop this happening? It is a Lemon Skunk and quite leggy. But the stems aren't that thick unfortunately. Also nearly all the middle to lower leaves have yellowed off and starting to fall off the plant but its 2-3 weeks away from harvest if this normal? I have only grown one plant before and that went fairly smooth no issues!

PICS!???????????????

I've used bamboo bbq skewers and long fuzzy pipecleaners to make "tomato cages" around em before, right now I have a white widow that's trying to fall over, I just put one 12mm wood Dow rod into the pot at an angle, tied a thick string, wrapped the plant like a loose bouquet, then tied back to the Dow rod again, you can do the same thing with tape, just keep the sticky side of the tape outward from the plant and stick the tape to itself then add another strip of tape sticky to sticky on the first (keeps you from sticking to the outer layer) looks healthy and that's the important part
A for ingenuity buddy! :D

Quick update gents,

The problem with the almost detached cola has now gone, a bit of masking tape and a bit of string and also some pvc coated wire done the trick. Almost at the end of week 7 in flower, so will be flushing on Sunday which will be day 1 of week 8 and then thats her done. Will leave for another 4 days and then lights off and into the dark for 3 days before a prayer is made and the life ended with a chop at the bottom! Thanks for all your help and comments.

Hey guys, just a quick update. All done and dusted, by the time i got her out for chopping down the colas were so heavy the main stem nearly snapped when the whole plant folded over! After drying and curing for a few weeks its at 60% humidity and dry weight was 4 ounce of great bud and half ounce of lower bud (which will find its way into the vaporiser) . All in all extremely happy with this strain and over 4 ounce dry from a small grow like this was for me great. Would defo recommend lemon skunk but next time i grow one i will be using a net and doing a scrog to keep the colas from stretching vertically so much and causing the weight problems up top.
