Colloidal silver questions

Yo,

Wanted to try to make some seeds. Started a plant 12/12 from seed, haven’t fed anything just want the seeds. Sprayed cs on the lower half until balls formed and I stopped spraying. Sacks opened and I pollinated the upper half.

I also had popped another seed that was about 3 weeks younger than than the pollen maker and pollinated that one as well. Both were pollinated about two weeks ago and I’m wondering if it took and seeds are forming. Hard for me to tell so I’m hoping someone has a keen eye and can let me know. I don’t want to waste the time with them if seeds aren’t forming, starting to get ready for outdoor season so I could use the space and light. If seeded I will keep letting them go!

first two pics are of the upper cola, I think I see some seeds forming do you?

The third pic is of a lower site that was sprayed and produced and opened balls, but now it’s like it’s regrowing more sacks or is that seeds? If it is sacks should chop that branch off and toss as I do not need more pollen? If it’s seeds should I toss anyway as they formed on the same as the balls?

last pic is of the second plant that is about 3 weeks younger then the pollen producer. She’s been pollinated as well, think it will produce seeds?

2 weeks might be a little bit early to tell from the outside. Do you recall a rapid browning of the pistils you pollenated a few days afterwards? That's usually the sign I look for when I want to see if pollen took.

I did for sure! I think I noticed even the day after, some turned orange/brown. Some sites were still bright white and I dusted them again and it changed soon after. I did read that as well so I'm glad to hear you say it but wasn't so sure on the older plant if that was just the age but it was noticed for sure on the younger sister.

How long in your experience does it take for seeds to mature? 6 weeks? And at what point can you definitely tell that seeds are growing? 3-4 weeks?

3 to 4 weeks they start to swell up a lot more, you should be able to tell. I wait 5 or 6 weeks before seeing if they're done.

Lower site pic is blurry. Looks like another cluster of balls, but I can't see super well.

I see some on the last photo. Hard to tell on the others.
Sweet thanks! That pic is from the little sister a different strain. So, I guess that means it's potentially a new strain then, right? The pollen maker was Death Star and the little sister is Gelato Cake. Growing them both outdoors this season, would be cool to get a couple of these new seeds to grow outdoors with the others to see how they compare.

Call it Death Cake.

How long after harvesting seeds can you germinate? Do you need to dry the seeds out for a week, or can you go from harvest straight to germinating?

I've had them pop right off of the plant. I always let them dry for several days before I put them into a sealed container, though. Don't want a handful of moldy seeds...

I'm drying the plants right now but plucked off a few seeds to get started. They look like every other seed. tiger striped. Been two days of germ and no tails yet. I think I'm over thinking it but was starting to panic thinking I harvested to early and wasted my time.

That cross sounds like you'll get something nice!

Like others said above.... for storage purposes, I let my seeds dry for a week or two after separating them from the plant. Too much moisture will cause the seeds to spoil or loose viability. I either put them in a paper bag or wrap in a thin paper napkin held together by twist-ties, and I leave them in a dry, cool, dark place for a week or two. I lightly shake them around once per day to expose the inside of the seed pile to the dry air. If you have more than 1 type, be sure to label correctly.

I don't intentionally germinate fresh seeds straight off the plant. Some of them that fall off volunteer up on their own. I'm not sure of the difference in likelihood of successful germination for dried vs fresh wet seeds.

I appreciate all the info! I will let them dry for storage as I will have more than enough from what I've seen off one nug.

I have 7 plants that I popped April 1st for my outdoor. Was planning on doing 8 total and was hoping to get this cross completed and started ASAP to go out with the rest. I'll keep on germinating what I have going now and give these others a chance to dry out. After a week if still no sign ill pop a few that had a chance to dry.

Glad things are working out for you. any updated advice ?
Thanks man! As soon as I see a tail pop, I'll feel like I actually was able to do it!

Seems from what I've read this is just scratching the surface of what can be done. I'll be honest it's probably way above my skill level and I get confused sometimes when reading about further breeding and backcrossing. Either way I enjoyed messing around and trying my hand at it.

Advice on using colloidal silver? Or what did I learn? I should give a shout out to budzbuddha, I read his thread " Seed Making Made Easy" probably 30 times and just followed along.
