Colorado Testing Labs

Now that Full Spectrum is out of commission (at least to the general public), does anyone know of a good place to get plants tested? I ran across RM3 labs which is close to Boulder, which would be convenient, but don't know much about them. Any insights/suggestions?

Thanks fellow Colorado Cannaseurs!

Cannlabs is good, we are running tests with them and with Herbal Synergy. Expensive, but we usually like two labs doing tests. Going to have HS come out this month and do a bunch of our gear. They are mobile too, which is nice.

MS - there are also kits you can buy online for DIY at home use. just tossing out other potential options :)

i seem to recall seeing a complete DIY instruction somewhere, but can't find it now. =\

Thanks guys. This is more for personal curiosity than anything so a home kit might be the best way to go, assuming it is fairly reliable as well as inexpensive.

I'll second that. DIY, cheap and reliable are all good things in my book! Let us know what kit you end up using and if possible post a review on it for us? ;)

With the Labs charging about $50, its cheaper to drop it off and have them run it on a real machinery

TLC plates are good, but the price on them works out to be similar per test and they will not give you any numbers

personally, i think $50/test is too high, keeps too many potential clients away. FS was only charging $35/test and that was pushing it (in my opinion). of course, i don't know what the backend costs are, so maybe they are making little margin @ $50. but the wallmart model works - lower prices closer to the margin will bring in more shoppers who buy more, and increase profits by shear force of sales. my 2 cents.

besides, the #s are only semi-useful since you will see differing results from top to bottom, one plant to the next. the #s should be a generalization of what that plant has done. I love it when someone says "such and such tested at 23% THC, 1%CBD, etc" ..... give me a bud from another cloned plant finished of the same, or, from another budsite on the same plant, and it will have different results. now, take 20 samples from the same given plant and run the averages. now you have a better idea, but it's still not going to be the same on the next plant run because of environmental and plant life factors. so a homebrew THC kit IMO, is just about as accurate as a lab will ever get concerning this product. and unless you are a Dispensary, who cares what the actual true # is? as long as i have a good idea of what the ratios are

you can get tests for $20-25 in bulk.

It really depends on what your going for. When I make extracts getting them tested is very important so I know the dosage for my patients.

The ratio is genetic. If you could figure that out from a TLC plate then more power to you.

edibles/tinctures are a different story all together. everything has been mixed at that point and patients should have a better idea of what is in each batch so they can dose properly and adjust (this is what is great about consistancy in product manufacturing). with raw cannabis, it's not so easy and there is more to it. that's all i'm saying

I was thinking of testing some of my homegrown with Rm3. This the reply when I asked about prices. They responded promptly. May consider dropping off a sample to compare my results with what the is common for the strain.

"Lvtokerr-

Our basic pricing is $45 per test; we're currently offering 10 tests for $400.

Please let us know what you think of them if you do use them. I'm leaning toward rm3 as well. Ian has been very responsive. I'm working on a CBD project and want to use the teats for pheno/male selection. The home test kits I found online didn't look accurate enough for that sort of testing.
