Complete newbie - Few questions

Hi guys,

Just about to start my first grow and have a few questions.

I plan on growing indoors in a small area.

I'm going to use two CFLs at the same time, is this a good idea? What different temperature lights should I use, and should I use the same lights through out the grow?

You definitely need to do some reading. Since you're going with CFLs I'd recommend Buds for Less.

You will need a couple more cfls to really do the job once its a few weeks old. Just get two in 6000-7000 range, and 2 in the 2000-3000 range, and run them all throughout.You will also need a fan and good air circulation in your area.

I just tossed 2 2700's and 3 5000's in my closet to get a few more hours since my daylight here is getting short.

Do I really need 4 lights for a single plant though?

how many watts are the lights

I haven't got any yet. I can quiet easily get some though, would you recommend something around 30 - 40w for two light CFL setup?

im running 9 26 watters and 4 55 watters two plants rule of thumb is 100 actual watts per plant more is always better

what are you growing in do you got a box or closet how big is the area

I haven't actually decided.

Is an everyday PC case too small? I have one to hand. It would be ideal as it already has holes to mount fans.

i mean it would work but why put so much time in for a small yield mine is made from a dresser gutted out and painted white they work good either way your gonna wanna read into lst to get the most out of your cfls

I'm just trying to keep things simple, like I say it's a first time grow. Not overly fussed about the outcome.

Maybe I could start in a PC case, and then find something else if/ when it gets bigger?

you could do that this is my first indoor grow too will be switching to a 600 hid in december after this harvest

are you planning 12/12 from seed or you gonna do a couple weeks veg

Yeah, probably going to do a few weeks vegetation.

I would go 18/6 at that stage?

yeah 18/6 will be fine for veg gonna have to stay on top of training to make the pc case work
