Complete red spectrum for flower?

I want to get a new light for flower but with limited funds I have been having to make due with my t5. I used 2 red and 2 blue spectrum (54 watt bulbs) for flower. Would a complete red spectrum make better buds until I can get an HPS or LED? Any thoughts or suggestions? Still a new guy continuing to get a feel for the whole growing thing.

I have an 8 bulb BB HOT5. I add UVL Red Lifes (aka Red Suns) & 2 Zoomed Florosuns during flower to my 2700-3000K flowering bulbs. You might use 2 Zoomed Florosuns to add some blue spectrums to your flowering bulbs

Due to size of current clones only using 6 bulbs. 4 is on the lite side to produce dense buds

See my threads for 411

yeah I know I can't get great results because my set up is pretty shitty. It also doesn't help that I have a couple leaks for light to get out because of my shitty set up. How big is your grow area? That's a lot of lights lol

IMHO, based on lots of experience, light leaks are no big deal. Outdoors, mmj faces lots of light for ~ 15 nights/mo. I think the whole light leak has to do with being stealth

8 bulb fixture only takes up 2 x 4 grow area. I am considering doubling to 4 X 8 though but use a 6 X 6 tent, so I can move around inside

Oh yeah I know what you mean. I meant in terms of me not having as much light as possible reflecting on the plant. We were supposed to build a closet because my cousin does contractor work but it has yet to be done. I just have Mylar hanging around the lights

In flower I run a mixed spectrum of reds and blues and I also have 2 pink plant photosynthesis bulbs in there as well. This is working out very well. In veg it is all blue 6500k bulbs.

new here... grown before, but never was able to complete the process, got to flowering stage most times and had to dump 'em... mostly because of moving, at unfortunate times. ; I now have a project in the worx using CFL's. I'm only using 7x26w[100w equivalent] 6500k/1600 lumens per bulb... I am 3 weeks in, starting of the fourth week. -going to add more CFL's 6500k at least for the next 2-3 weeks... Then, I will be changing most[not all] bulbs to 26w[100w equivalent] 2700k/1600 lumen per bulb. Don't worry... I am not one of those guys that thinks you just add up the lumens all together LINEARLY and tell everyone, 'I have 80,000 gazillion lumens!'
...FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW... LUMENS DO NOT, SIMPLY DO NOT ADD UP IN A LINEAR FASHION!!! AND LUMENS degrade quickly, dependant on the distance from whatever you are shining your lights on... YOU HAVE TO GAUGE WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES IT FROM BULB TO SURFACE..
That being said,... oh but wait -I know someone is going to post after me and try to plead their case.. 'But lumen dO add up!' -I know that this is a common argument across many forums... there is ALWAYS group A that believe THIS; And group B who believes THAT.
anyhow... we should all just get along and try to help each other with useful info, instead of baggin' so hard on others... 'What's with all the hostility? -PEACE AND LOVE, MOTHERFUCKERS; PEACE AND LOVE...

Anyhow, I am not a pro by far, but I am not an idiot either.

Here is current pics of my project...
Round 2 will be better organized and will most likely include T5s. more lumens produced per bulb than these little 26w CFLs. BUT...it's what I got for now, so it's what I'm using.
-=GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE=-

Lol shit bro I use 2 t5s on top. Cover 6 plants pretty well. Then I got aprox 25cfls, 20of them are the 26watters u got mixed between 2700-7500-5000k.

The other 5 are some 150 pure Watt cfls I got. 2700k. Mixed in.

The lights do the job

Those plants in the fish tank will not do well at all. There is no drainage for them in a fish tank. Ask me how I know lol. I hope that rubbermaid has holes in the bottom for drainage. Looks like you need to add more lights and get them closer kind of starting to stretch.

Yes, the rubbermaid bin has holes in the bottom for drainage, and lucky me the seal is bad on the terrarium, WOOHOOO. -Not the best drainage, but some[have to tilt a little to get most of the water sitting out of the bottom. yeah... I am waiting for pay day to get more receptacles for more lights. got the lights, but lacking sockets/splitters. trying to prevent as much stretching as possible; moved my lights closer yesterday and had a very small bit of burn on the tips, so i had to move the lights a little further away. contending with heat in a closet with no AC in the house is a bitch. -BUT, after seeing the tips burned slightly[not bad], I still felt bad[Like I hurt my babies]. SOOO... what I did was barrow my neighbors 5000BTU window AC unit that he wasn't using and working on getting a frame together today to chuck in the window. HOPEFULLY, that will cool things down a bit in combination with my 20inch box fan that I'm using for air circulation... Inline Fan and Tall Carbon Filter is also going to be installed very soon. which should also help with the exchange of air. :leaf:

what kind of bulbs are you using and how many... i saw the post up a ways, but had no specs in it... ya know, watts, lumens, type...

idk... I just measured the distance between nodes... 1/2 inch, and the furthest gap between nodes on 1 plant is only 3/4 inch... streching? i doubt it... sounds like someone is just a critic. some people have to criticize no matter what they comment on.
