Hello and Welcome to my journal.
This will be my 4th grow, and im starting to really get my ducks in a row so this grow should be very pleasing. This grow will be done using Roots Organics soil and 6 of the 7 products from general organics.

The Breakdown
Grown in a grow tent 62"x30"x24"
250w MH veg / HPS flower
lumetek digital ballast
Will be scrog'd and topped
planning on a 5 week veg depending on what pheno i get
using 3gal smart pots

Nutes and Soil
Roots Organics Soil
General Organics line
BioThrive Grow
BioThrive Bloom
CalMag+
BioRoot
BioWeed
BioBud
DiamondBlack

Today is day 3 of veg, she took only 2 days to germ and another 2 in the dome to sprout. I will get some pics up when there is more to see so i hope you pull up a chair and enjoy the grow.

How far do you plan to put the screen from the lights?

Ive got a Jack Herer Scrogging now (day 2 flower) and the light (150w hps) is about 12 inches above my screen, I'm hoping I dont need to adjust it too much...

anyone have screen to light distance advice?

i run a air cooled hood so i can get my lights pretty close i usually shoot for a 1 foot space between the top of the plant and the light to be safe and if you can get the bulb closer without burning the tops or affecting your temps then get the bulb a little closer.

I85BLAX: So what would you recommend he use?

I would recommend a mix of ingredients that might not be easy to buy...

But you can make you own very easily with a little outdoor space devoted, you can take your Veganic grow to another level.

1 part High Quality Finished Compost made from vegan sources (grass clippings, food scrapes, Comfrey leaves, stinging nettles)

1 part Leaf mold (made by raking fallen leaves into a pile, leaving it for 1 or 2 years to rot down) Finished product acts like cocoa fiber or peat in the mix, and it is organic, sustainable and free. Plus it has all the added nutrients of the composted leaves.

1 part good old Earth, from an undisturbed forest area or fertile garden spot.

Add a little bit of greensand, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, Dolomite Limestone, rock phosphate and granite dust.

And you done! home made, totally Veganic, sustainable potting mix.

(For anyone worried about bringing any bugs from the soil inside, you can "sterilize it" by making a little solar oven with a cardboard box and plexiglass top. You would then want to re-inoculate your soil with compost teas and the like.)

yea ill take pics of the whole set up not much to see but itll show how i routed all my ducts and where i positioned the ballast and whatnot lol
I more meant the nutes/soil you are using. I use 2 GrowLab 4x4's with 600 watters. I do love seeing other peoples' physical grow layout though. It never ceases to amaze me the myriad of variations people use and the creativeness of folks in this culture. Inspires meh! bongsmilie

I like how short you've managed to keep the seedlings! How far away are you lights??
