Your more forgiving than I am.. the bitch has nothing illegal in her house, has done nothing illegal.. they talk to her and to save herself (from nothing) she gives them all your info? wow glad im not in your family..
You dont know what they told her, im sure it was along the line of "Your whole life could be ruined if you get caught up in this" Or "You helped aid this person in this horrible crime and you can be in this just as much as he is" and "We can forget you helped if you cooroperate".

Some people can get shooken up by this crap and spill the beans. Cops arnt exactly the kind to say"Hey you've got nothing to do with this but can you tell me about your brother".

Florida has the largest amount of in door growers in the country, it makes sense that asshole cops would try to pull some shit like this.

florida cops really are crazy i live here in florida and seen people go to jail for nothing get convicted under false pretenses hire the best lawyer in town. loose the case spend 10,000 plus in the process and it pleases the judges and financial advisors taking care of county or state money. florida is really bad. i had a friend go to jail cuz it smelled like weed in his car. cops didnt find a thing. but he still went to jail for a tail light out and resisting arrest. he didnt resist in any way they pulled him over came to the car smelled the pot and put him in cuffs and searched the car. came up with nothing and took him to jail and impounded his car. all over nothing. so it does happen and more frequently here
I can vouch for FL cops being on power trips..i lived in FL over 20 years....they can charge you with obstruction (resisting w/o violence) for practically anything....I've been there before....its a bullshit charge however and you will only spend a few days in jail at the most.

As far as the OP saying cops tracked down his sister while looking for him ,from ordering lights and shit online, sorry but I don't believe that...I never heard of an online company giving out customer info to the police. that don't make any sence, thats losing customers and no business wants to lose the hundreds or thousands of dollars a single customer will spend.

and the number 2 reason, FL cops are not very smart at all....oh man the stories i could tell ya....your sister needs to stop talking to the cops first off....If there is not a dozen cops yelling search warrant the door does not get opened, tell her that.

The cops don't have to get the info from the grow shop..they can get it from the shipping company, shit even HTG sticks an invoice on the outside of the package...there's no secrets what's inside those boxes and who's sending it.

Yea, I know a lot of people who ordered various things on line and they've never had any issues. I also live in a different state. Sometimes cops do things that ARE NOT legal by any stretch. It's up to you to know your rights, and learn how to protect yourself. It's hard to tell a cop "hey stop, you don't have a warrant" when he's trying to walk through you in to your house. All he's going to do is send somebody to get a warrant, which will take about an hour, and they'll be back. There's no law saying they can't sit across the street and watch you. The fact that it was none of their business doesn't matter once your rights are waved. It's amazing to me that they would have gone through the trouble to do all that just for equipment. They went to your sister because they thought they would have better luck getting information from her, and it worked. I'm not saying your sis isn't cool, but she probably shouldn't have known. When they asked she wouldn't have had any info to give.

I buy everything with cash, but I also have 5 decent hydro stores within about an 80 mile radius. Cash leaves no trails and tells no tales

I lived in Fl for 18 years so I can verify that cops in FL do this kind of stuff. I was arrested once for test driving a car being sold at a used car dealership. The car dealer forgot to gas up the car and it ran out of gas. A cop stopped and came to see what was the matter, I told him and was very polite. He asked me if he could search the car, I thought for a sec and told him that I didn't know if I could give permission since the car was owned by the car lot. He put me in the back of his car, searched the car I was testdriving and found 2 seeds and a marijuana stem under the passenger's seat. I don't know if it was there before he searched or it came from his pocket. And no I wasn't smoking, I usually don't when buying a car. Anyway I spent the night in county and when I went in front of the judge the next day to get ROR'd he flat out told me that the only way I was getting out that day was if I pleaded no contest, so I did. I got 6 months probation over it.

But if you live in an area where it's illegal, then it's easy enough to get a PO Box under an assumed name and address. Just don't use the PO Box after the lights arrive and you should be fine. Just call your local post office and ask what forms of ID they need, then get a fake ID and get your PO Box.

If you live in an area where it is legal then I wouldn't worry about it. Thank you President Obama for telling the fed law agencies that they shouldn't be going after those who are doing in accordance with local laws.

That said, you still have to be carefull with other things you do. If the feds get you for something else, they'll attatch anything else they find and increase the number of charges that you're facing. So if you get caught for insurance fraud to use an example, if the feds find the plants you'll also be facing a fed drug charge.
dude, that story just dont sound right, if it was true, y the hell would you plea no contest?? Id fight that shit till the day I die....

anyone ever think that the cops might monitor RIU and when they see people posting pics online, especially that big ops, just trace their IP address?? I mean if I was a DEA agent I'd definetly visit this sight frequently...Would make their job pretty damn easy.

Which is why I do not post pictures and never actually reference the type of tomatoes I am growing.

About the police story, my friend is about 1 year away from Graduating law school and I had him read this.

This is a prime example of, I hate to say it, good police work. Cops know of a lot more crime than they have the ability of legally stopping. This example for instance: They KNEW someone bought X, Y hydro equipment which may or may not mean they are growing something illegal, but the DID NOT have enough evidence for a warrant. So what do they do? They Gather more evidence. They will watch you and see if you carry anything in the house, see if you have people going in and out all day, etc until they build a case against you and THEN they get the warrant. Its kind of bullshit if you ask me.. gathering illegal evidence to point people out for closer watching. Then watch them until they screw up and capitalize on it.

The one thing that the cops rely on is the stupidity of all of us. They will say anything to get you to incriminate yourself.. and you have a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT not to incriminate yourself.

thats what i mean...I would never open the door for the cops, it will only be opened if they kick it in....i've had the police come looking for me many many times, im watching them on camera just chillin and laughin knowing they have no warrant to get me...I once had the cops looking for me at my house, and guess where i was for that week??...I was in their own jail....these stupid asses didn't bother to check if i was even in custody anywhere....lol

So they assume anyone ordering HPS lights, nutes..etc.. is growing weed?
