Could I clip a fan leaf or two for more light exposure?

Basically what the title says. I can't upload a pic now unfortunately, but if u subscribe then check back in the morning.. The plant is a hybrid indica dom, it's under a 150watt hps, I topped (or what I believe to be topped) it at the 5th true node, so there are only ten fanleafs, but I was wondering if I could clip one or two to expose the Other budsites under it (because they were stretched before I got the hps, and I want them to fatten up a bit). Is this logical or commonly practiced? Or is it stupid and unnecessary?

+rep for some help

That's what I've been doing and esp. if it's indica it will bush out like CRAZY. Is it already showing branches coming out of the stalk other than the fan leaves?

Yea, idk if u read it when it said hussities lmao but that was iPhone autocorrect, I meant to say the other budsites, so yea that's what I'm referring to, they are growing their 5 nodes themselves, but are like 8 or 9 inches long, lanky lol

if i were you get some side lights to get your light output higher. and dont clip the fan leaves if u have to LST, i hope u have heard of it. try to tie down parts of the plant so more light can get to more parts of her. keep the fan leaves get more light on them!

Yea there are inner nodes, or whatever u wish to call them, that are log and lanky, and I want them to get more light so they don't keep stretching under the shade of the fan leafs

That's pretty funny that u mentioned that. I was just talking to my friend about an hour or two ago about LSTing, and I was wondering, does that make the plant permanently grow sideways? Could I just tie it down until I notice a good enough difference, and will it stand back upright?

here ya go, said i would put them up in the morning in cvase anyone is interested. the first 2 pics are of my 27" tall plant and the second two are from the 25" plant. did i top correctly? or did i just hack off the center stem and slow growth? lol... it seems to be growing nicely, and the two "main stems" that i made are growing faster than any other inner budsite.... doubting this will actually help me any more at all, i still decided to put em up cuz i said i would...
any more advice, or if there is something else wrong witht the plant or something i can do better, please feel free to chime right on in..

yea i know the second one is a little mutated lmao..

Haha sorry bro maybe I'm too stoned, but could u elaborate?
there would be no point in tring to stand the thing back up you would be wasting your time and energy to do something that would not benefit you. lst however is not a waste of energy it has many benefits allows light to reach more leaves and increases bud sites, there is just no point in undoing it is all i am saying. is that elaborated?

dont ever cut healthy fan leaves! tie them so they are under the budsite and the budsite gets alot of light compared to b4 while the fan leaves still collect the light like before and turn it into energy to keep growing big and fast.

I tie my girls down..low to the floor.. use whatever to do this. They grow upward sending up branches many of them.i can grow lots in a small area that way..vb

I remove fan leaves through-out my veg, and occasionally through-out the bloom if i deem it necessary.
They do collect n store energy 4ur plant, so removing them will hinder the plant momentarily. I always make sure i have plenty of leaves b4 i remove the unwanted ones.
..But ultimately its ur plant so do wat u want n read how the plant reacts..
Peace :peace:

i used the lst technique and tied my plant very low...only about 5 inches tall but goes sideways almost a foot more than that... i HAD to trim my bottom fanleaves because my plant got so bushy there was little air circulation underneath, usually i would ahve jsut tied them out of the wasy as previously stated but sometimes you ahve to take a few out in order to keep the air flowing if you ahve tied really low

i wouldnt suggest you do so on your plant though. its looking a little scraggly so you should add more light to the sides (maybe a few 42 w cfls) and if your stem isnt too stiff try tying it down so that the stem runs as close to horizontal under you light as possible and you should be able to increase your yield a fair amount

May i suggest doing what i did. I call it tucking. I slowly tuck the fan leaves down toward the base of the plant to the short new branches can peek out and it work great for me takes a little time each day. But the plant is not cut or shocked if you are very gentle (make sure to wash your hands just before )Check out my albums. These plants were grown under 4ft. flos until a week ago now im using a 400 watt MH and a conversion bulb to flower.
