could pot be worthless in 2 years?

I have buddies who can make at least 1k a week trimming. One of the trimmers this year did at least 2 lb a day, every day until it was gone.

Lots of these guys come from other countries, trim for 2 or 3 months, then take the whole year off.

To those who keep driving the price down, fuck you. We work super hard every day in harsh conditions with no days off to produce quality organic buds. I understand the need for cheap medicine but it's literally not worth producing at $800 or $1000 a lb after labor, overhead, trimming, etc
Fuck you right back for clinging to outdated production methods- technology is reducing the cost to produce top quality meds and why shouldn't medical patients- many of whom are poor and/or on fixed budgets- have to keep paying black market prices?

Eventually people are going to figure out that cannabis is not only an agricultural crop, but that it also cures what ails you. People are slow so its taking a long time to go mainstream. Something like 65% of people (reproducible in every culture regardless of race, religion, or style of government) do whatever the fuck they are told without question. Those dumbfucks (all of us humans) take a long time to learn. But when people finally realize they can help the retarded neighbor kid feel a whole lot better and not scream and bang his head against the wall by simply dumping a couple seeds in ground next to the tomato plants in the garden, then it will be everywhere and it will be free or next to free. And it should be. Some of you on here are stuck on the "old way," and those who make money off the "old way" are the ones who fight progress the hardest. Marijuana is a better medicine than it is an intoxicant, and smoking it is the worst way to consume it. Although I remain fond of the practice, the future of cannabis is as a dietary supplement, and the future of cannabis cultivation is as a vegetable. So the Asians figured is out first, not a surprise, Asian immigrants are the wealthiest demographic in the US (look it up if you don't believe me). They are hungry and they aren't hung up on the "old way." Adapt or die. If you rely on illegal cannabis cultivation to survive, you should start saving your money. If you drive for a living, well automation is coming and your job has an expiration date. Change and progress happens. Even to pot growers. I live in the NorthEast and here in September everyone is giving away tons of zucchini because we all grow more of it than we can ever hope to consume... that is the future of pot. And its a beautiful thing.
I take it you're not a financial advisor? lol Marijuana will not be accepted by the main stream for a long time to come and true medical marijuana has got a long way to go to match the profits of opiates. So I don't see much changing and now with Trump I actually see legalization hitting roadblocks for the next 4 possibly 8 years.

Continued / reinvigorated federal enforcement will eventually result in the dissolution of the Feds power via more jury nullification and will feature continued disobedience to their stupid laws in the interim.

The Feds propaganda worked for years, but nowadays even people who don't use pot don't believe the prohibitionist bullshit anymore and those people will be on juries and let peaceful people walk free.

You are right though, in the short term, more federal douche baggery will probably keep the prices high.
I live here in sunny old Oregon and I can say many people still talk down about weed and weed smokers. I still have to fear losing my job because I smoked weed, legally! That propaganda was much more effective than many give credit.

They shouldn't! Clubs in Northern California still charge patients $40-$60 an eighth for quality weed. In a legal transaction. In an area with massive outdoor grows.
It's actually much cheaper on the black market, or free.
It will become cheaper, there's no stopping it. We'll just have to roll with the punches, and you're right, I probably am using outdated methods. Cheers

I doubt it will get very cheap really, didn't get cheap in Amsterdam. Just remember the motto "turn in a Viet Cong to ICE, be nice".

Cheers, mate- I do appreciate a good sport in a lively debate.

I want to see it affordable to all, including growers.

Asian Americans, I don't want to get into racism just the way they moved in grew 10X more then any one and dumped it for half price to every club.
And its pretty darn good stuff because they get the clones from good breeders.

just saying, I cant get my head around it.

Its not a racism thing, i don't know what else to describe them as with out pushing this topic over the cliff.

Its OG and sour D.

Many are violating environmental laws, iv been to a dozen farms and they all cut down the forests into slash piles.
Mentioning their race doesn't make you racist.
Also if it's illegal it will never be worthless if it's legalized then maybe you'll see a decline in price but after some time only bad weed will become worthless so grow good weed and you'll be fine

If farmers can make money selling crops that bring in pennies per pound, they can make a lot of money selling mj. I know of at least two commercial farms in my area that have applied for grow licenses. They will make money no matter what the retail outlets pay, and it will be more than corn or tomatoes get them today, even with the added costs of compliance.

But whatever they earn, it will have little relation to what the end user gets charged. You can look at almost any commodity and see that.

Too many people are talking about cannabis being a commodity where people buy based on price alone. You have to look at weed the same way we treat bourbon, scotch, rum, tekillya, and vodka. You can buy a bottle of vodka for a few bucks or you can spend over $1 million/bottle, believe it or not.

I can't imagine 1 oz of bargain basement cannabis costing less than $40 per oz. By the same token (pun intented), there will be certified, organic, tested, well manicured bud for $400 per oz. Some people only want the best and won't care about the price difference.

Ass,

Boutique pot I think is a lie and will survive with a Sierra Nevada like mentality, arguable the biggest brewery in the world. owned by a few starbuck billionaires and sold at walmart.

Im not hopeful at all for the future, it wont include me with a job, I got all the paperwork and hope its enough for a proper funeral.
